We just returned to the US after a visit in Puerto Varas and want to tell you that the best time of our trip were the two days we spent with Maria Abud of Patagonia Trails. Briefly we were looking for low-medium trekking with Maria and she took our group on a rainy day hike to Alerce Andino National Park and the Salto Rio Chaica and a sunny beautiful day hike to the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park where we hiked up to the red crater of Osorno and continued with a walk along the Solidaro trail to Petrohue Falls and one of the nearby lakes. It was incredible, good for individuals in the group who had not done much hiking before (but got the appropriate shoes and gear before getting there) as well as myself who has done a number of trails in the pacific northwest. She was able to communicate and discuss the flora and fauna we encountered and engage the group. Communications throughout the process, as we booked her earlier on, were just right. When we return to Patagonia we will not hesistate to book with her again, nor will we hesitate to book a more extensive trek now that the group has more confidence...
Read moreOur trip to Chile in 2017 with Maria Abud was amazing! I would totally go on this trip with her again and I think I will actually do it someday. The landscapes that Maria shared with us were stunning --- from the awesome Atacama Desert, to extraordinary alpine geysers and salt flats of flamingos, to incredible giant ancient Alerce trees, to spectacular Patagonia mountains with glacier and waterfalls. Also included were wonderful walking tours of towns and cities where we were able to immerse ourselves in local culture and learn about the history of Chile. Maria was an exemplary guide. She was enthusiastic about sharing her love and knowledge of Chile. She and her fellow tour guides were knowledgeable and patient in answering my numerous and constant questions. She took care of all the numerous details and logistics of such a varied and diverse trip, seemingly with no effort. All we had to do was enjoy this extraordinary...
Read moreMaria Abud was our guide in 2017 on our Chili trip as we ventured beyond Santiago. This was an active hiking trip and did not disappoint. Every detail of the trip from excursions, hotels, travel from point A to B, restaurants were exemplary. Our cooking class adventure arranged by Maria with a fellow tour guide was so much fun and out of the ordinary. Touring and hiking in Torres Del Paine National Park was amazing as was going via Zodiac to OâHiggins Glacier and then via ferry back to Puerto Natales.
Her support staff (drivers) are equally knowledgeable and share her love of sharing their country with those of us who want to experience and learn the history of Chili.
You will not be disappointed arranging an adventure with Maria Abud.
She is amazing and so much fun.
Maria and yes we do share...
