We were recommended this vineyard by our hotel as a place to observe the sunset.
We were not disappointed.
The drive up to the vineyard is well off the beaten track. It is a dusty drive to the vineyard.
We parked up and were welcomed by a very friendly guide. We sat on the balcony and had plates of cheese and nibbles provided with our wine.
The view was simply fantastic. We were about halfway up the hillside with vines ascending and descending the gentle slopes.
We were able to see into the distance and to the hills.
Our party settle din for the sunset. I set up my camera and prepped for the sunset.
Throughout the unhurried evening we were scheduled to be given four wines to taste by a very friendly guide who explained the details of the vines and varieties of grape.
The guide than said that as the entire party was small, he would bring out a fifth wine.
The wines are simply superb as are all of the wines that we tasted in this area. I cannot say that we tasted a bad wine at all, anywhere. We tasted wines that we preferred over others, but, there was never a bad wine.
Then, the sun set. It was simply beautiful. Obviously we were subject to the weather at this point, and on the day that we were there I cannot say that it was stunning, but, the air was clean, it was quiet, and magical in every way.
To be standing there, watching the sunset, is an episode that will stay firm in the memory.
I highly recommend this...

Read moreVentisquero winery located in Santa Cruz is a large volume corporation producer with a boutique flavor thanks to our consummate and professional host Orlando Ibañez. Without doubt the most beautiful place to observe sunset several hundred feet above the valley floor with a northwest exposure. If there was one suggestion to the management team that they might take seriously…. Make it a dining experience to compliment and give exposure to their fine wine product line....
