香港第二個海岸公園，生態價值高，也是生態保護區。因地形關係，是一個天然屏障，令海水清澈，衍生出很多海洋生物，特別是不同品種的珊瑚群，根據維基網站所述，＂在香港發現88種珊瑚中的59種都可以在這裏找到＂。

同時這裡又順理成了潛水熱點，吸人很多人到來潛水，欣賞附近的海洋生態。

附近有小店出租獨木舟、浮潛用具等，但大多數人對此店均為負評，認為店主態度惡劣，為賺錢而對人毫無尊重，樣樣賺到盡。不想受氣的，建議自行帶備足夠食品及所需用具，免得盡慶而至，敗慶而回。

交通方面，現時唯一的公共交通工具，只有專線小巴 7 號線，由西貢公共運輸交匯處開出，平日為每 30 分鐘一班，假日為每 20 分鐘一班，全程收費...
