I started off at the entrance at Bride's Pool Road near the public toilet there.
There was a gradual climb right at the beginning. It lasted quite some time but the climb was not too difficult.
A lot of people would go up Pat Sin Leng (a mountain with several peaks that stand between 500 and 600 meters) from here. I chose to go to Luk Keng instead, where I could have a nice meal in a Hong Kong style tea restaurant after the hike.
This route is much easier. The highest elevation is just about 250 meters, and roughly half of the trail is covered by trees, making it a much pleasant hike even when the sun is shining from above on a hot summer day.
