20241021:China Eastern Lounge @36 offered a varieties of food, ranging from soup and dry noodles station, porridge, tofu, hard boiled eggs etc. as well as cakes and sandwiches, biscuits and snacks, bottled water and soft drinks, tea and coffee.

The food is general fine. I like the cake but the americano coffee is rather dilute.

Good service by the staff, who took away the trays though they have just arrived for work and were carrying their bags, and heating towards the staff area.

On holiday from Australia and travelling on a Qantas booked classic rewards fare transiting from Melbourne through Shanhai to Amsterdam. The Qantas and China Eastern partnership states that there is access to the lounge in Shanghai. However - we were not admitted because we were in transit. Seriously - why else is there lounge access in the partnership unless you are transiting through Shanghai and want to use the lounge. The people at reception were very polite and apologetic and didn't understand why on the website it said access was allowed but at the lounge the rules...
