Superbly positioned for Disneyland and Pudong airport with free shuttles to and from these locations (10mins and 30mins respectively) and other areas such as The Bund. There is a timetable in the lobby and you need to reserve your spot for busier times. A taxi is 20cny if you miss the bus and actually drops you closer to the park, which we did a couple of times to save the walk from the bus park and to avoid the hawkers. We also got a taxi back to the hotel from the same area (Lane D at the parking lot). Make sure you have Google Maps (VPN needed)/Amap handy as one of our taxi drivers tried to take us an alternative route to increase the fare. It's no more than 20cny.
We stayed for two nights with a three year old. Our room was a kid friendly room with panda decoration on the wall and panda cuddly toys, a little Wendy house on the patio and a slide. Downstairs there is also a very spacious playroom with soft play and ball pit. This was very much welcomed by our daughter, even after a long day at Disneyland!
The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming, but speak very little English. Download Google Translate before you visit China. It's a must!
There is a free laundromat! Very handy, thank you.
Unfortunately the breakfast buffet was lacking for me in terms of Western choices and quality, but it will get you by. What was great was the little table and chairs for the kids as they sat and ate together. The restaurant was enjoyable in the evening after a long day at Disneyland. It was quiet and provided ample choice.
The only other niggle was the shuttle bus to the airport. We appreciated the free shuttle on our last day, but the drive was a bit hair raising especially with a small child. The driver drove fast and had to swerve and brake a number of times to avoid other vehicles. This type of driving is common here, but perhaps the hotel could ask the driver to drive more carefully? Seatbelts are provided, so...
Read moreWe had traveled so many places, and this hotel was one of the best that we ever had. No complain with the price we stayed, personally we got more what we paid for. Breakfast buffet is a huge delight with so many options. Everyday they offer something different and the food is delicious (at least for us); big screening with Disney movies and kid dining area so kids are staying and eating in their area if they want to. Room is spacious and cozy, very well maintained and furnished. Staffs is very friendly and helpful all the time. We didn’t try the shuttle because our time is hard to manage and we are kind of going by the flow; however, taxi and ride sharing are very convenient and cheaper when comparing to the services in other countries. Basically, 10 mins away from SHDL and it was only $20yuan per way, no complain. So in and out we used ride share extensively because they provide more options in a comfortable way. They provide free shuttle to and from airport, SHDL and downtown on a schedule. But again, it is easier to ride share or taxi because we don’t have to wait for the next shuttle. Besides those, Free Laundry while you stay! It’s such a huge relief for us because you want to wash your clothes everyday after visiting to the park.
Highlight of this hotel: if you have little one with you, they have kid club (not day care though), and indoor playground. Our LO loves it and he has to go everyday to play with his new friends.
10/10 recommend this hotel! They are really...
Read moreWe stayed here because it was close to Shanghai Disney and they provide shuttles to get to the park.
Checking in was fine. However, the front desk associate who checked us in did not speak English very well, which isn't a problem as my wife speaks Chinese... However, she forgot that my wife speaks Chinese and kept explaining things in English. No big deal. We all had a laugh at that.
We received an 'upgrade' to the kids play room. I didn't realize it at the time because of the Chinese. While appreciated, my daughter never played with any of the kids furniture so it was wasted on us.
The main issue with the room was that we were on the second floor and the washroom smelled like sewage. Bleh!
When taking a shower, the water leaks out and makes the floor extremely slippery so be mindful about that. We just threw a towel on the floor to absorb the water and to ensure we didn't slip.
The breakfast is very nice here. Lots of Chinese and Western options.
They have a laundry room and the machines auto dispense detergents. This was especially helpful after two days in Disney.
Considering this is basically the only Western hotel chain near Shanghai Disney, if we come back here, we would see if there are any new options before booking here again. The washroom smell really...
