Had a great holiday here with my family of 22 from NZ, It was one of the only places where the whole family could fit all together. The house is nestled in a beautiful green valley with an amazing view and not another property in site, having dinner on the balcony upstairs watching the sunset over the hills was a highlight of my trip. The facilities were great and the kids loved the pool. There was a few insects around but that’s to be expected in Rarotonga. Communication with the host was good and replies came quick. Highly recommend this properly for people with big families and nature lovers

The Te Puka Estate is a pretty fantastic accomodation for larger groups wishing to visit Rarotonga. Tastefully decorated complete with a number of standalone studios with additional kitchenettes, full laundry area, great balcony and pool set in lush vegetation. These are the positives. The downside of the Estate is the volatility and general unfriendliness of the primary host. You need to be aware that unfortunately while he is a really good chef he is unpleasant to deal with on email and responded with curt responses to our most basic questions. He also has a reputation for cancelling bookings if something better comes up. This happened to us, and we also heard about another wedding group that was due to stay after us having their longstanding booking cancelled causing a lot of stress for the bride (we heard). His wife seemed much better to deal with which was a positive. The other downsides of Te Puka are the owners have two constantly barking dogs, tonnes of crowing roosters, and burn offs around the property took place nearly every day creating a smokey environment. It didn't help that there were builders working from 8am - 5pm hammering away for all of our stay. It was strange that they chose to use a peak tourist time to get that work done. So in summary, Te Puka offers a great house and location, but you take your chances. If you have a large enough group it may be hard to beat despite the difficulties and risks of dealing with the primary host. It has to be said there were a number of others of our group that said they would score it more harshly than we have here for the...

We had a 7 night stay in 3 of the rooms at Te Puka. The rooms themselves were ok. I stayed in Poolside apartment 1 and it was great walking straight out to the pool area. The room itself was a bit more modern than our families who were staying upstairs in 3 and 4.

The biggest downside was not having aircon. Being December, it was super hot and although we had the fans running 24/7, the only relief from the heat was the pool which was great. Inside the cupboards kind of smelt damp, which was off-putting, and the towels also had a strange smell, which went away after they’d been washed.

There was only one dryer for all four apartments to share, which was constantly on the go as we stayed during a lot of rain, otherwise there are clotheslines around and clothes hangers in the rooms. One good thing was the filtered water upstairs in the communal outdoor kitchen, it made drinking water easily accessible for us which was awesome.

The location is inland amongst an avocado grove, so you can’t walk to a beach, although walking out to the main road from here probably isn’t too safe anyway, being a narrow road with multiple blind spots for pedestrians. Reception wasn’t great here for us but if you don’t need it, that won’t be a problem for you.

All in all, Te Puka is good for having a large group all be together in one spot. Nice and quiet away from everyone. However, my family and I would probably go somewhere...

Bewertung? Unter null! ... Und...
