10/10! We'll be first to admit that we didn't seek this adventure out, but WE ARE SO HAPPY it happened! We arrived to the Tenario park for a hike, but it was closed due to a landslide. Miguel, the owner, met us with a friendly face and offered us alternative activities. He didn't pressure us or feel salesy, he answered all of our questions and honestly saved our day! It was also my birthday :)! We followed Miguel to the tubing location, stopping once on the way to a beautiful stop, to check out a tree (it's on the way, do it!) Miguel hopped off his bike and took pictures for us too. While we arrived, the tubing center was very clean and there were changing facilities and bathrooms. We met our guides and they gave us a quick orientation. Since we had two children, a 3 year old (!!) and a 5 year old, we would have two guides. I (the mother) was a little nervous about my 3 year old but it was PERFECTLY safe, I laughed the whole time on the tube and it was great BECAUSE I felt safe. Phew! The guides you can tell, do these runs all the time and are experts. Before we knew it, we were on our way to the river. They showed us a sloth on the way, even! On the river, Tristan and Daniel were VERY sweet. They even helped convince our 5 year old to do a rope swing and were quick to help him swim to the shallow area. I honestly felt like I could've just sat on the river bank and let them swim with my kids, they were so fun and attentive and it was such a fun and amazing experience. The tour lasted between 1-1.20 hours. We stopped a couple times to swim and even got to do a fun volcanic ash exfoliation. They took pictures for us too! At the end of the tour, the driver took us back to the main site. Along the way, he stopped and pulled over so we could see caiman. Once we've changed into our clothes, we were treated with some of the best and freshed mango and pineapple and Rio Celeste Water. They also sold some handpainted coconut shells as a souvenir, so we bought one of those too. Overall, it didn't feel like a big run-of-the-mill operation, it felt like they genuinely wanted to show us a good time, this beautiful piece of CR. Thank you SO much to everyone. What a...
Read moreWe had an amazing day with Rio Celeste Sloth Tubing Tours. Anthony was very responsive when we enquired about a tour and gave us many options. We started the day with a hike to the waterfall with Dilan as our guide. He showed us several animals we would not have noticed on our own. Next we went to the sloth tour which was my favorite part. The sloths are living there naturally, and they check every morning to see where to find them. We got very close looks and fabulous photos on a beautiful coffee farm. We then went tubing down Rio Celeste. It was exciting and beautiful. Dilan worked hard to make sure we stayed safe. We ended the day with a fantastic meal prepared just for us, and they worked around a few food allergies. They were flexible throughout the day and let us pick the tour that was exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend calling if you are looking for tours...
Read moreWe had a great time on the Rio Celeste tubing tour! It had rained quite a bit the night before, so the river was not its famous color, but there was more water and so the tubing was more exciting (but not really dangerous or physically demanding). Antony and his crew don't speak a lot of English, but took good care of us. I would recommend adding the meal option - it was absolutely delicious, perhaps the best casado we had, with sweet fruit and some wonderful passionfruit juice. (One note - you'll probably want to take a shower after the tubing, so bring a towel as those are not provided...
