Muñoz y Nanne — Local services in San Pedro

This place is known for their bakery, specifically for two items: Their Torta Chilena and Flan de Coco. Both are reputable enough to be known across provinces and only found here, the famous Muñoz y Nanne, which was one of the first clustered shopping centers ("mall") owned and managed by a family in Costa Rica.

Now things have drastically changed as business went stagnant. Their existing stores contain products which have a visible layer of dust as their prices have certain challenges competing with other nearby specialized businesses.

During the famed pandemic of 2020, the managers closed their supermarket section of the store, leasing the space to a competing supermarket brand; a rare instance for this family-only business model.

I've heard that their restaurant, found in the heart of this complex, serves good food. However this location is most reputable for their pastries, such as the perfected Torta Chilena (in various sizes) and...

There is a restaurant/bakery inside (up stairs and straight) and they offer a great Lunch special for 2.900 colones. You get a tray then you can select options of what they are offering that day, rice/beans/choice of meat/vegetables all on 1 plate, then you get a soup in a bowl and another plate for your choice of Salad/veggies/potato salad or pasta salad, and unlimited refills of there juice(new meals every day). I would go there a lot because it’s the most food you can get for the price...

La Soda de Muñoz y Nanne es bipolar.

La vez pasada, los "pasteles arreglados" estuvieron buenos... Y el arroz con camarones también.

Así que volvimos el sábado pasado.

¡¡¡GRAN ERROR!!!

La sopa negra por suerte la recomendación fue que pudiéramos una entre los dos: Buena y grande, apenas para dos entradas.

Yo pedí una hamburguesa, porque en esa Soda las porciones son generosas.

Además, pregunté que si la torts era casera. NUNCA comí torta congelada. No.

ERROR: la hamburguesa, perdón la hamburguesITA era pequeña, mucho. Con torta congelada y con un quintal de papas fritas de bolsa. Nada que ver.

Mi compañero pidió chuleta a la plancha.

Vino la consabida ensalada... Lechuga, tomate y pepino. Estaba fresca.

Y llegó un plato con arroz blanco y dos chuletas AHUMADAS Y FRITAS EN UNA SARTÉN PORQUE CHORREABAN MANTECA.

Las chuletas estaban SALADÍSIMAS Y CONDIMENTAS sin compasión. Probablemente para ocultar la mala calidad.

Tratamos de comernos una y no pudimos.

Cuando el mesero vino, le dije: Pedimos chuleta a la plancha y usted trajo chuletas AHUMADAS a la sartén.

Entró en un nivel de negación que mi amigo me dijo: "Dejalo así, de seguro les cobran la comida equivocada".

El café estuvo bueno.

Ahora, pagar 17 mil colones por una comida de soda... ¡Me parece que es mucho!

Vendieron dos chuletas AHUMADAS, pero, PERDIENDO...
