Distillery "Aura" — Local services in Grad Buzet

Buzet is the city of truffles, but I personally think it should be renamed to the city of Aura destillery.

We didn't even enter the destillery and we were immediately greeted with a welcome drink by Mr. Kristijan. Everything Aura makes - and I mean, EVERYTHING - is available to taste. Whether it's one of their chocolates, jams, brandies, liquor flavored ice creams or award winning gins (more on that later) can be tasted.

The destillery makes a lot of different types of brandies and alcoholic drinks, including the multiple-award winning Teranino, but if you ever come here and have the fortune to be greeted by Mrs. Branka, ask for the Karbun Navy gin with orange tonic. I have literally never tasted anything better in my whole life. Karbun Navy won half a dozen medals all over the world, including a Master prize - when all of the judges unanimously agree that a drink is the absolute best. Personally, I think 6 gold medals is nowhere near enough. Even by itself the gin is incredibly delicious, but mixed with orange tonic and ice... It's out of this world and I am so incredibly grateful I came here and tried it. It was such a strong experience that I honestly believe I came out a changed man.

Mrs. Branka was a delight and was more than happy to give us a small tour of their showroom and explain how everything is made, and even provided us with some delicious home made olive oil and pršut that were out of this world.

If you are in Buzet - actually, if you are anywhere within 100 km of Buzet - you have to come here and visit this place. My husband and I recently visited Aura Distillery, and we were thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable staff, making us feel welcomed and excited for our visit.

The tasting session was a highlight of our day. We had the opportunity to try a wide variety of rakia, each one uniquely delicious and expertly crafted. The staff was more than happy to explain the nuances of each type, enhancing our appreciation of the flavors. Additionally, we were offered complimentary food that paired perfectly with the rakia, making the tasting experience even more enjoyable.

The tour of the distillery was equally impressive. We were guided through the entire process of making rakia, from the selection of the finest ingredients to the distillation and aging processes. The tour was not only informative but also a lot of fun, thanks to our engaging guide.

From the moment you step in the destillery or any other Aura shop you will feel like a kid in a candy store, but in this case it's filled with liquor and chocolate and jams. Everything in this place will take your breath away. The little details in this stores are just amazing. For a time that you will be in the store you will be in another world.

We found out about location of destillery from their shop in Pula, decided to go on our last day of vacation and WOW, it was an amazing end to our vacation. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by lovely Branka. We didn't even have time to look around and we already had a welcome drinks in our hands.
