Quick intro.
I travel a lot. I have spent last ten years in top cruise ship lines as safety and deck officer and my wife is a restaurant owner in prime Dubrovnik location. Hello, I hope someone with brain reads and understands the kind intent behind this.
Overall, the place screams lazy management, craves for update, craves for real work force and it seems stuck in socialist era of mass lower middle class tourism. Your website is nice though.
So let me start this experience chronologically.
Parking is free. Two adults and a 6yo child - 210 kn Three towels - 60 kn Two robes - 70 kn Kids robes not available.
Towels were thin and useless which gives the richness to the fact you price the DEPOSIT for towel 10 kn... so, three towels are worth to you 30 kn in case my family chooses to embarrass themselves and me with taking them home but you RENT them out to us for 60 kn - for this few hours.
This is some brick selling street business model.
Okay, we shelled out 340 kn because I promised my son he'll go to slides - just FYI, the same thing in Valamar Dubrovnik costs 56 kn per adult, kids free, towels free, robes free, slippers (which we were not even offered) free. But Valamar has no slides 😁 so there is that.
Moving on.
Changing room is ridiculous. I do believe some benches by lockers would not amount to a big investment. Hair dryers as well but I'll get to them later on in text.
Toilets are dirty and poorly maintained.
Someone mentioned before that you tend to overcrowd the place and today this statement was definitely confirmed. Still, we were lucky and found the place by the kids pool in the corner.
In the colder swimming pool it says do not hang on to dividers, fair point, lifeguards would whistle anemically to the kids which would jump in line regardless if someone swims there or not.
Big pool was nice and warm with nice exit outside.
Kids pool was full but kids are kids, it was warm and my boy really enjoyed it. I do believe you should put someone there to remove overzealous and overprotective parents - I saw a hundred kilo grown up old moron jumping over kids and climbing on little blue slide.
Now, the food and service... you guys really need some revamping there. Said mass of people was catered by three barely adults and it was the style of student canteen. They did a good job to the best of their abilities though. Fajita was good, pizza was below average (ketchup does not go in pizza, thats just plain laziness and/or lack of professional cook). Plastic cutlery? In a hotel?
Plastic glasses are logical as people are barefoot but somehow I don't think that was a planned move.
I wonder how much plastic waste do you produce per day and how do you take care of that - I hope not in nearest dump together with food but it seemed like that. Only one adult I saw apart from entrance cashiers was an angry looking communist era cleaner which just stuffed everything in a big black bag in the middle of guests and moved on. Didn't seem like segregation at all.
Next, random observations... guys, lifeguards are there for a purpose and that purpose is not to inflate those ridiculous balls - yes, the balls bring you revenue but trust me, if the kid drowns and the parents have in their mind to sue you its not going to be happy times.
Music (trash techno) was apparently played by those two at the big pool trying to emulate summer party atmosphere ... right next to them was the ballon animal guy.
I get it, Zrće party for adults, balloon animals for kiddies - I am really sorry I didnt take some photos 😂.
Okay, time to go...
There was a line of about forty people for seven hair dryers, two of which were not working. Apparently that is a normal thing as people who come there often said so.
I know I will not be coming, sorry.
I don't think you'll suffer from me not coming though as the bulk of your customers are used to this and apparently...
Read moreHotel Well is really fantastic and worth every penny. Kind personel, big, clean and moder rooms (only premium - those in old part are very small and much lower class) , fantastic food, show cooking, exceptional number of meals to choose ... one of the best we've had in whole Europe.
Now regarding wellness part ... everything is rather new so no clues of wear an tear, pools are clean and the best thing is that indoor pool is connected to outside pools. And here is the worst thing about Terme Tuhelj ... there is no hot watter any where in outaide pools so when we were there no one was outside (except few very brave) since watter was feezing. I guess that on hot summer time watter will be ok but I was expecting termal watter everywhere.
Saunas are exceptional, lots of them together with relaxing parts. Overall for families with kids there is not so much attractions even though there are good animation teams.
So there are no stars between 4 and 5 and the hotel and wellness deserves full 5 stars and outside pools and attractions 3 mainly because of cold and non...
