Pivovar Prokopák is an inn and brewery located in a small valley to the west of river Vltava. Google suggested many various options for public transport, but I skipped local train, took metro from Mùstek to Smichov and tramvaj to Poliklinika Barrandov. From there, about a thousand meters downhill to Prokopák
It's worth the trip. Lovely sauce for a perfect steak, and the beer cold and fresh. I started with a desitka (10⁰), light golden yellow with a dense head, aroma and taste with notes of lemon balm and light bread malt. Jedenactka (11⁰) was similar to the first, but with more malts.
Nice service. They mostly speak Czech here, but when you're both thirsty and hungry, it's easy. Then you try Czech. Steak is steak. Pivo is beer. The beers are excellent with a range of both ales and lagers. Food is also reasonably good, if not exceptional, with a range of traditional Czech dishes and international staples like burgers and ribs. Prices are reasonable, although a little more expensive than your average hospoda.
Service can be a bit inconsistent. Have visited a number of times and while it has been excellent on some occasions, it has been rather poor on others.
All in all it is a great place to stop for a couple of beers or a bite to eat when walking in the...

The beer and food here is amazing! I had the roast duck with sauerkraut and potato dumplings. The sauerkraut was really sour and it had cubed ham in it. There was also a good amount of sauce for the dumplings. I had the Svatá Barbora beer which was light and crisp with a hint of sourness. It was perfect...
