CIK CAK RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Prague

I recently tried three highlights at Cik Cak and came away genuinely impressed:

Brisket Sandwich The house-rubbed brisket is slow-roasted for seven days, then served warm in a dense sourdough roll. It arrives layered with fermented cabbage, a honey-mustard dressing, and pickles—each element bringing a bit of acidity or sweetness to cut through the meat’s richness. The accompanying spiced fries are well-seasoned and crisp, making this sandwich both balanced and satisfying without ever feeling heavy.

Škvarkovka (Lard & Crackling Spread) This traditional spread of rendered pork fat and cracklings offers a deeply savory, almost nutty flavor. It’s served with generous slices of sourdough and is best enjoyed in small bites: a smear here, a crunch there. It’s rustic, straightforward comfort food, and it pairs surprisingly well with the tang in their pickled vegetables.

Vegan “Brisket” Sandwich For a plant-based alternative, they substitute meaty oyster and shiitake mushrooms marinated in the same spice blend. The mushrooms caramelize nicely on the grill, offering a chewy texture and umami depth that echoes the original brisket. The same cabbage and mustard elements bring the sandwich together, so you don’t lose any of the structure or flavor balance.

Finally, the service at Cik Cak is consistently attentive and friendly. Staff are quick to explain menu items, check in without hovering, and maintain a relaxed but professional pace throughout the meal. A solid choice whether you’re sharing plates with friends or grabbing...

Definitely one of the best restaurant in Prague. Modern Czech cuisine and presented in stylish way. All the dishes are amazing and delicious. The chefs in the photo is one of the very well known chef in Prague with so much of experience in gastronomy around the world. His name is Renda and once you are in the restaurant do not forget to meet him. He has a beer on his name but unfortunately you are not ale to buy it in the restaurant. The service also good. They even have a small place for kids to play. The small brewery beer was nice as well. i definitely will recommend the place...

Bohužel musím sdílet svou negativní zkušenost s restaurací CIK CAK, protože takové jednání jsem opravdu nečekal - zvlášť když jsem dlouhodobým zákazníkem. Bydlím nedaleko a často sem chodím, zejména o víkendech. Občas, když s přítelkyní procházíme kolem, vezmeme si svařák s sebou 🍷

Dnes jsem dorazil o něco dříve, ještě před oficiálním otevřením, a rozhodl se chvíli posedět na venkovní terase, než začnou obsluhovat. K mému překvapení mě však okamžitě oslovil jeden z pracovníků (domnívám se, že šlo o vedoucího) velmi nepříjemným a arogantním tónem. Byl jsem konfrontován otázkami, co tam dělám a proč tam sedím 🤨

Chtěl jsem se zeptat, jestli už mají otevřeno a zda si mohu něco objednat, ale byl jsem okamžitě přerušen a odbytnut slovy: "Ne, nemůžete. To není veřejné místo. Pokud chcete sedět, jděte si na lavičku. Tady nemáte co dělat." 😤

Takové chování považuji za naprosto neprofesionální a nevstřícné - zvlášť vůči někomu, kdo do podniku chodí opakovaně a podporuje ho. Terasa přitom není nijak oddělená ani označená jako soukromý prostor, působí jako běžné veřejně přístupné posezení 🤷🏻‍♂️

Na základě této zkušenosti NEmohu restauraci CIK CAK doporučit. Zákazník očekává alespoň základní respekt a slušnost - zvlášť pokud má v úmyslu zde utratit peníze. Bohužel místo pohostinnosti jsem zažil jen aroganci a odmítání, což mě velmi zklamalo 😔

P. S.: Předchozí majitelé byli mnohem vstřícnější a zdvořilejší - je mi líto, že jejich podnikání nevyšlo. Ale s tímto přístupem současných provozovatelů pochybuji, že vydrží o moc déle. Já osobně už do CIK CAK nepůjdu. Raději si dojdu pár metrů dál do restaurace KASKADA, která je hned za rohem - a kde si hostů...
