Amber Cove Adventures — Local services in Puerto Plata

Wow! Our adventure was so beautiful and special! Here's what to expect from this experience: you get off the cruise ship, go find the bus, drive to the trailhead where you'll be equipped with a lifejacket, helmet, and water (there are restrooms here), then you'll start your hike. The hike itself was moderate...there were some pretty steep parts going up and some really steep stairs going down in places, but it's not very long, maybe 45 minutes. When we were there (early September), they hadn't had rain for a long time and water levels were lower than usual, so we didn't get to do all 27 waterfalls, but I felt satisfied by what we did get to do. Our tour guide, Winston, was absolutely amazing!!! The people in this company were very welcoming and gave a lot of good information about the history of their country. If we're ever in the Dominican Republic again we'll do this with Amber...

We were celebrating our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary & were led by Winston & Milton on an AMAZING waterfall hike at the Damajagua Park in the DR. There was another awesome young man (whose name I can’t recall), but together, these gentlemen gave us an awesome experience that we will never forget! Milton was very patient, kind, & informative as he taught us so much about the beauty of the nature in the Dominican Republic along our hike. Winston also taught us so much about the history of DR. His kind, professional demeanor made us feel so welcomed from the first moment we met him. Even the bus driver was awesome, they allowed our bus to stop at a market so that we could taste an organic banana from the DR (which was ALSO amazing!!)
