Absolutely THE best musem in Tallinn. The collection of old arms is huge. The musem takes you on a trip through the millitary conflicts that has taken place on Estonian soil through the ages. Russian, Swedish, German, Polish and Danish invasions. Lot of cool displays of old crusader castles, banners and big maps on the wall. Everyone who loves history loves maps so that is a great plus. A big section covering the first world war and the fight for independence in the aftermath. Everything with signs in English. Authentic posters from the era of which you can buy copies of in the giftshop. A very nice section about the Estonian volunteers who fought in vain to stop the communist hordes that washed over Europe in 1944-45. The only thing that could have made it better is if there were some books in English in...
Read moreAn excellently curated museum focused on the wars/conflicts affecting the area of Estonia and around about, from the Vikings to today. There is also a nice audio guide for the smart phone that works well (well it did on mine). On the ground floor there is also an audio visual display (again in various languages) that gives you a synopsis of the four historic periods of conflict in the Estonian region. There is also a nice display of military kit from clubs to modern day...

If you don't visit that museum you're just a Tourist rather than a...
