Black Rose Pub — Restaurant in Viimsi vald

I thought really hard what score to give and 3 stars seems fair. We ordered a beef burger and duck fillet. Beef burger with fries was a good size and looked good on the plate. The first bites were really good but bite after bite I started to hate it. I'm not sure what was in that sauce between the burger but it was so overpowering. I guess there was some pickles inside the sauce? But combining pickles between the burger and then also on the sauce....that was too much. I might be wrong about the pickles but in the end, the sauce was too overpowering. Duck fillet....oh my....we haven't had so small portion of duck fillet even in "fancy restaurants". Duck was cooked pretty well....just a bit more and it would have been overcooked. But also with the duck the seasoning was slightly off sadly. But that duck was so small that my girlfriend was still hungry after that....and that hasn't happened before! Considering that this was a PUB then I would have guessed that portions are bigger than in restaurants. Service was friendly and positive and nothing bad to say about that. This is the place where one always spends more time waiting and being ignored by the many waiters than actually eating or drinking or enjoying anything. It's overpriced too. Waiters seem surprised that people actually go there. They seem surprised that people order something. You are made to feel you are doing something wrong. In short, you are not welcomed here from the moment you enter here and attempt a simple smile at the first waiter you see. And yeah extremely overpriced. It pays to take a bus (1A or 114, around the corner from this pub) and go to Tallinn where you can find many pubs much better and much cheaper than this one and with better food too and a larger selection of beer. This is supposedly to be a place to watch sports too but if there is some important sport event you should expect the large screen not to be ready. Also, don't expect other people in the place (if any) to go there to watch sports. There is an upper floor but most of the time waiters will once again curb your enthusiasm and refuse you...

It was an amazing place to eat. Usually on Friday nights there is someone performing, this Friday we listened to Boogie Company. The atmosphere there is amazing and the service is amazing as well. We ordered the pasta carbonara which was amazing and made the correct original way (if you don't like a lot of raw egg yolk then I don't recommend it) and it was very nice and salty,you can't eat a lot of it. Also we took the grilled pork chop with potatoes ( you can choose which type you would want). The pork was amazing, it was sweet and tender and the mashed potatoes (what we chose) were nice and salty, I really recommend it. Then for dessert we got pancakes from the children's menu which were very good and tasty. The water was good and you got a lot of it and the ice coffee actually had a nice strong coffee taste.
