I did skydiving with Skydive Fiji today and wasn't impressed with the overall experience.
A skydiving instructor who paired up with me was terrible. I didn't know his name, but he had a tattoo read 'THIS TOO SHALL PASS' on his arm.
First, he wasn't very hygienic. When we were riding a van to the airport for the skydiving, he opened the door and split water from his mouth outside the van. Since the van was running, the wind blew the water he split back inside the car and some of it hit me as I was sitting behind him. Also, opening the door while the van was running was dangerous.
Second, he vaped twice on the van. I wouldn't care if he vaped in open space, but for close space, he should be more mindful about customers and other people.
Third, he was rude and hardly communicated with me. He didn't even introduce himself or greet me. When he had to start setting up the gears for me, he didn't ask or inform me what to do. He just used one of the gear to poke me to attract my attention and shook his head towards the gears without saying a word. When he helped me wear it, he used his hands and feet to direct me what to do instead of simply talking to me. While we were on the plane, and in the air after jumping, he also used hand signs to direct me all the time which was confusing considering it was my first time skydiving and didn't know what to expect, and had to figure things out immediately when he gave some signs. Therefore, I couldn't focus much on the view I saw in the sky because I had to focus on interpreting his body language. I truly doubted if he should still be called an instructor since he hardly instructed anything.
Finally, he seemed to lose passion in his career. It didn't seem that he enjoyed doing it at all. It's as if he's forced to work. My friend and his instructor jumped off the plane a few minutes before my instructor and I did. However, we landed on the ground for quite awhile before they did. He was in hurry to hit the ground and I had less time to appreciate the experience while I was in the sky. I paid 740 FJD to receive such poor service.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe moment I decided to skydive in Fiji, I knew I was in for something unforgettable. The idea of jumping out of a perfectly good plane had always been both thrilling and terrifying, but if there was ever a place to do it, it was over the stunning islands of Fiji. As we arrived at the Skydive Fiji office, the nerves kicked in. The instructors, however, were calm, professional, and even a little too cheerful, like jumping from 13,000 feet was just another day at the office. Their confidence was reassuring, but my stomach still did a few flips before I even got on the plane. The small aircraft took off, and as we climbed higher, the views were breathtaking. Below me, the turquoise waters stretched endlessly, dotted with tiny islands, coral reefs, and white sandy beaches. It was paradise from above. Then came the moment of truth. Strapped to my tandem instructor, we edged towards the open door of the plane. The wind roared, my heart pounded, and before I could overthink it, we jumped. The freefall was the most surreal 30 seconds of my life. The rush of wind, the weightlessness, the sheer adrenaline, it was overwhelming and exhilarating at the same time. I couldnāt even scream at first; my brain was too busy trying to process what was happening. But then, pure joy took over, and I found myself grinning (or at least trying to, against the wind blasting my face). Then, the parachute deployed, and suddenly everything slowed down. From chaos to calm in an instant. Floating gently above Fiji, I had a few minutes to take in the view in absolute awe. It felt like time had stopped, and all I could think was, Why didnāt I do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I had the most incredible experience with Skydive Fiji, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the teamās professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail were evident. They took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring we felt comfortable, informed, and excited for what was to come.
We happened to be the last jumpers of the day, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Our patience was rewarded with a spectacular view of the islands bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun ā a truly magical sight that we will never forget. Although we experienced a two-hour wait due to strong winds, the staff kept us updated and reassured throughout. Their decision to delay the jump for safety reasons showed their unwavering commitment to passenger safety, which we deeply appreciated.
Once we finally took to the skies, the experience was beyond words. The freefall was exhilarating ā pure adrenaline and freedom ā followed by a serene and breathtaking glide under the parachute, with endless turquoise waters and coral reefs stretching out below us.
Every part of the experience, from the pickup service to the safety briefing and video package, was organized with great care and efficiency. The staffās enthusiasm and genuine passion for what they do made the day even more special.
If youāre visiting Fiji and considering a skydive, donāt hesitate ā Skydive Fiji will give you a once-in-a-lifetime adventure youāll treasure forever. Vinaka vakalevu to the entire team for such a memorable and beautifully...
