Me and my family felt like a seafood night so we chose this place purely off reviews we found online.
Seafood tasted fresh but the lobster tails and the prawns we received were overcooked. The fish however was cooked perfectly with crispy skin, delicious sauces and your garlic butter was sooooo yumm!
Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The downside of our dining experience here is that we ordered a seafood platter, the waitress knew this was between two people but did not advise us how the platter works in terms of price and how much seafood we were actually getting.
You also had 5 pieces of cassava chips, that is NOT ENOUGH for a massive plate of seafood, we had to order another side of fries!
Your menu is deceiving by saying no set pricing but advises at "market price". Although your menu said to enquire with staff, our assigned waitress did not explain how much we would roughly pay nor the amount of food we are getting on this platter even when telling her this was between 2 people, this would of been helpful so we could of told other diners at our table NOT to order mains and to share our platter. We paid $378 for our seafood platter (2 people) that we couldnt finish.
My sister was in two minds about ordering a lobster tail or fish for her meal, your waitress seen this but not once did she advise us then that the seafood platter would have been enough to accomodate a meal for her too. Instead she paid $260 for her meal of lobster that her too did not finish.
With saying this our meal was almost $900 for a family of 5. Im all for paying top dollar for amazing food, but your seafood wasnt amazing and your staff did us dirty by not being informative when ordering your seafood. The least you could of done was given us free water. The bottled Fiji water is $3.20 at the local shops yet you marked up pricing to $15 and tried to get us to buy more when we finished the bottle.
My advice for your staff is to be more informative about pricing with seafood that doesnt state a price on your menu cause I noticed another table questioning their seafood platter not far from us cause they too were shocked.
Advice for customers: ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE ORDERING WITH PRICING.. or youll be shocked to see a $900 bill like us!
Also your toilets did not flush, something was going on with the plumbing!
TO YOUR REPLY: Please note we had every intention to all order dessert but only ordered 1 to share between 4 people because we were sickened by the mountain of seafood to get through. We didnt get through this because it was simply too much seafood for two people and we seriously tried and offered it around the table; even then we were all seafood out. Having something sweet after dinner is not uncommon so just because we ordered ONE dessert to share it doesnt mean we would of finished the platter had we not ordered it. Its just like saying well you ordered drinks, had you not done that maybe you would of finished your meal.
Dont get me wrong, we too learnt a very expensive lesson and we were just as disappointed at ourselves for not asking questions upon ordering the platter.
If we had addressed our bill with you at the time would that have changed the price because I highly doubt it. We decided to pay without mentioning our disppointment because technically what we ordered is what we got, we just feel we wasted a lot of food/money even with taking containers home - it was still overcooked lobster left. As I said before this could of been avoided had our waitress explained how much seafood was coming in the platter. This platter could of fed our whole table!!!
This review is is based off my personal experience. I always post honest reviews to help others when dining at restaurants but also for the food establishments benefit for slight improvements that would of changed our experience. Im sure Im one of a few that have felt this exact same way, I just happen to post a food reviews when I dine...
Read moreBeware – looks good from the outside but looks can be deceiving! Our visit to ‘Sails’ promised so much but turned out to be one of the worst meal experiences I have had anywhere! Before leaving on the ferry for 10 days visiting resorts in the Yasawa Island group, we inspected this restaurant with the plan of celebrating the trip and milestone birthday on return to Nadi before flying out the following day. We checked the menu and were impressed by the staff’s congenial approach, the food offerings dominated by seafood dishes, moderate pricing, and the ability to pay the bill directly in Australian dollars. A booking was made! On return, our experience went pear shaped. One member of the group failed to receive the customary fresher towel, only getting it after several requests. On checking the menu, we were surprised to find it had been replaced with an updated version with a large price increase and without a specified price in Australian dollars. I’m aware that eateries modify their menus from time to time with prices usually increasing (albeit not so severely). However, the experience was further complicated by a member of the group becoming seriously allergic to fish during the trip, due to a past fish-poisoning event (issues unknown when the booking was made). Crab and prawn ravioli, presumed to lack fish, was selected by two of the group. Sadly, the approach by senior staff to our situation was unsympathetic and dismissive. After attempting to ensure that no fish was substituted into the ravioli, a senior chef verbally based our trainee waitress who broke down in tears. Soon after, an inedible, entre size ravioli appeared minus its seafood content. It was passed back. Meanwhile, the second ravioli dish arrived, and while it contained traces of seafood, it lacked substance, taste, and amount, even for a notoriously small eater. She claimed that this dish was one of the worst seafood dishes she has eaten anywhere, confronted the chef and suggested he remove it from the menu. Needless, to say we left most disappointed with this experience, the birthday boy having only a glass of water and many dollars out of pocket!...

Viti Levu, Fiji Best Restaurant in Denarau and best service September 2024 We were recommended to go to this seafood restaurant by friends. What an experience. We went without booking ahead and from the minute we arrived, we were given one to one service. First with scented , cold face washers to cool you down. A cold drink of still water. In addition, the owner, Nathalia, made me comfortable, as I was on crutches ( due to a sprained ankle). Nathalia, prioritised a booth near a large window, so I could rest my injured leg. She provided a blanket to rest my leg on, and made sure I was completely comfortable. This is all before we ordered. The staff were extremely attentive and the food was amazing. Particularly, the prawn and lobster ravioli, hand made and was to die for! We were so full we couldn't eat dessert. The service did not stop, though. In conversation about our trip to Fiji,It was mentioned that we had come to Fiji to celebrate my milestone birthday ( a week ago). As we were leaving, I was presented with a cup cake and wished for my birthday. On top of that, Nathalia went over and beyond and drove us back to our accomodatin , at the Hilton in Denarau. An amazing meal, experience and service. We will be back. Cannot recommend Sails at Denarau, enough. Thank you doesn't quite cut it! Lilian and David...
