Not sure why such good reviews for this place - I was abit disapointed actually
The all inclusive cruise here claims, Morning and afternoon tea Tropical buffet lunch Beer wine and soft drinks Canoes and paddleboards Snorkeling and glass bottom boat tours Kids club Relax on exclusive Tivua Island Music and entertainment
This is all for $220 Fiji dollars... which sounds abit too good to be true!
Firstly the bad things... it’s a 7hour day trip which sounds nice except embarking/disembarking and travel to island takes about 2hrs (boat is very slow)- so you end up spending more time cramped on the boat than on the island. Also music and entertainment is just a guy singly along to a guitar at the front of the boat - cheerful guy though and seemed to be trying to make things entertaining. Sadly food is really not good... it sounds good in advertising with tropical buffet lunch - but food is unpleasant and I fortunately I didn’t really eat any of it, but sadly my girlfriend ate some and ended up with bad food poisoning that night. Would strongly recommend bringing your own food. Island is also not exclusive - when we were there a large group of school children in another boat that arrived before us and booked out most of snorkeling gear and all canoes and kayaks etc which is good for the kids but pretty annoying for people paying $200 to go snorkeling etc Also coral is all dead. No surprise as everyone is standing all over it - but this place should not be advertised for snorkeling.
On the other hand! The good things Island is quite nice and water is very clear, although no coral is left the water is still quite nice to swim in as long as you swim around the algae and seaweed which is not that hard to avoid. Has bathroom facilities with flushing toilets. Open bar with selection of local beers and wines as well as lots of soft drinks. Everyone had lots to drink but they never got close to running out and were very well stocked. They had staff come around and collect all the bottles and rubbish also which means the island is kept very clean for the next people coming.
All in all I actually enjoyed my day mostly apart from the boat but it’s abit of false advertising. If it was advertised as a 4hr boat trip with some time spent on island with open bar that’d be closer to the truth - but what looks like a great deal is actually pretty overpriced for what you get.
If you come into it with low expectations but enjoy sinking a few beers on a tropical island you’ll be...
Read moreI would love to give this a higher review because the island was beautiful (that is a 5) and the crew were really nice. But you get little time on the island and spend more time then necessary sailing.
The sailing is ridiculously slow (1.5hrs each way) 3 hrs of sailing. The last thing you want after a full day outside is to be sailing slow with no breeze. This ruined the experience for us especially during the return journey.
In the end you get 3hrs on the island which is extremely disappointing. For cost a bit disappointed that they don’t focus on maximizing your time on the island by sailing faster.
As someone who snorkels lots and has snorkelled around the world the snorkelling is not good. The reef/coral is pretty dead but you will see fish.
We paid for transfer from our hotel and that was nice and the driver was great!
The bar on the island only serves beer, wine and...
