Château du Petit Sonnailler — Local services in Aix-en-Provence

We stayed at Le Petit Sonnailler for 5 nights in early September and used it as a base for touring the area. It was easy driving to Arles, Aix, the Camargue, Baux, St-Remy. Petit Sonnailler is a working winery located north of Pelissanne near the small village of Aurons. After a substantial breakfast, served in the courtyard, of warm bread, croissants, fruit, cheese, charcuterie, we were fortified for our daily excursion. At the end of the day, we came back for a swim, a glass of Petit Sonnailler's rose or white wine, then prepared our dinner in the rustic, but well appointed summer kitchen. We stopped at the Intermarche in Pelisanne for provisions before returning. Madame Dominique is a charming hostess, anticipating your needs and helpful with recommendations and reservations. Our room was spacious, well appointed with a French window and Juliet balcony overlooking the courtyard. The very friendly guard dog, Iris, was ever present in the courtyard with a wagging tail to greet guests morning...
