So happy we found a honeyplace! We bought the full works here: Pots of great honeys, honeycake, propolis nose spray, and Chouchen: mead. I bought four bottles, very curious about it. It is 13.5% alcohol and was on oak barrels, so it is a proper drink! I did buy and taste it from another Breton honey farm so I am wondering what the differences will be. As I am learning, meads come in all kinds of varieties. (Luckily the French have laws for this, so wine+honey=mead does not fly here.) As the gentleman (owner?) told me, it is water plus honey. Thats it, c'est tout. It is slowly fermented in oak barrels.

The rooms are simple, but comfortable and the continental breakfasts are plentiful. We ate in Le Faou our first night and were horrified by the cost of a taxi 30€ per trip x3!
