This is a beautiful atypical beach, a hidden gem, that has a feel of a natural reserve, don't let the nearby industrial zone put you off. The hill scenery is wonderful, the water is clean and inviting, a bit chilly but not as could as some other Normand beaches. Unusual dark sand makes you think of volcanoes. There are two pretty decent restaurants and a fries/sausage/beer café. Weird, but very spacious parking (hint hint faster to park here then search for one in Le Havre)... Amazing place, found it crowded as it was a weekend. A great break from routine - that's how any shore leave is, right? Walked 4.3 km from the berth to the beach, and despite the crowd, the place felt refreshing. Pebbles, black sand, cool water, sunny sky, everything refreshed my mind.
