Grand Ballon — Local services in Thann-Guebwiller

This is a place were I used to hike when I was a little boy: I therefore can't be fully objective since there is still a bit of magic there... Obviously, this is the top of the Vosges mountain. You will get a 360 view around and a unforgettable landscape. It offers a sight on the Alsace plain with the black Forest in the background. When the whether is good one can even see the Alpes summit and the Mont Blanc. This is really fantastic to see and the walk is really easy when starting from the pass or "col du ballon". You shouldn't miss to eat a blueberry pie in one of the restaurants nearby. I put only 4 stars since the place can be crowded and they unfortunately built a radar on the top: you now hear the constant rumble of the AC which kills the harmony...

Went to the top with our road bikes and the trip to the top was very hard but amazing! A lot of motor cycles and cars on the way to the top and some other road bikes At the top, a restaurant is located where we took some time to rest and drinks.

If possible, I recommend to go to the top by bike to enjoy the surroundings to the fullest!

Magnifique vue. Mais gâchée par tous les abr… qui se prennent pour des pilotes avec leurs motos et leurs grosses cylindres. En particulier les suisses. Allemands. Anglais. Hollandais et belges. Les français ne sont pas en reste non plus malgré des voitures plus modestes. Nous sommes un duo de deux voyageurs à vélo. Nous venions de Dax après plus de 1000 kms à travers la France. Aucun soucis tout du long. Mais ici la vie des usagers est secondaire. Ces demeurés en plus de mettre en péril leur vie et celle des autres. Gâche totalement le plaisir d’observer les paysages dans le calme. Pas un seul gendarme n’a été vu de la journée pour contrôler tout ce monde. On observe des courses type cannonball ou les personnes sont équipés de casque micro pour se challenger. Démentiel. Que fait la gendarmerie. On retrouve mm des drapeaux ktm au col le long des...
