Dreamy beach with horseflies from hell.

I do love Port Cros and the snorkeling is absolutely 5 stars. It's a must do in the area. But as soon as you get out of the water and lie on the beach you are devoured by horseflies. I was there in the early afternoon in mid August (and by the way the place was not crowded at all even if it was still the tourist season). I don't know if there is a time in the day or in the year when the horseflies are not there. Because of the horseflies I would not recommend this beach for anyone with children or people that enjoy lying down for a long time. Porquerolles didn't have this problem so I'd recommend to look at it as an alternative if snorkeling is not your...

A bit of a hike from the port (Port Cros), probably one of the best snorkeling sites in France. Sheltered from wind and waves on three sides, with a small barrier island (Rocher du Rascas) protecting the front. Had the highest density of fish compared to other places. je mets que 3 étoiles car impossible de se poser tranquillement sur sa serviette + de 3 minutes, des gros temps de partout, qui viennent tout le temps sur vous, souvent on ne les sent même pas se poser sur nous, et nous pique. sinon à part magnifique plage, pas très grande, mais paysages paradisiaques, le sentier sous marin vraiment incroyable. mais ATTENTION, présence de pas mal de méduses hier quand nous y étions elles n’avaient plus de tentacules, certaines piquer et d’autres non, faire attention, mais avec le masque en avançant pas trop rapidement on les voit facilement en regardant régulièrement autour de nous, donc cela n’empêche pas de faire le sentier sous-marin. par contre préciser à l’aide de panneau de ne pas sortir les méduses hors de l’eau, plusieurs hommes les prenaient a l’aide d’un bâton et les mettaient hors de l’eau, ce qui les tue, et c’est censé être un endroit protégé, et là les humains ne respecte pas les animaux marins qui sont dans...
