Our large family group visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Firstly, as of November 2024, they now charge for parking which used to be free. If there's room you can park at the side of the road opposite the car park for free.

The toboggan run itself is OK. Not the longest by any comparison and not the fastest either, both trundling up or freewheeling down. It's best feature is the staff who will happily explain the various pricing options and what might best suit you and your visit. Big applause for them.

What really let's the place down is the on site restaurant. They use a press button coffee machine, which dispenses weak coffee sometimes with milk sometimes without depending on how it behaves on that particular vend. The single serving pot of cream I was given had gone off and the cream was solid and rotten on opening the capsule. Clearly stick rotation and best before dates aren't important there. Yes, I appreciate it was early April and the warm season is just starting but I'm sure the winter season didn't finish that long ago. Either way, food hygiene is a non-stop process.

The last straw was that the cafeteria is cash only! I wonder why? How does that work with primarily card using visitors. Oh! I know they tell you to go to the toboggan ticket office where you can get cash as a "refund" if you use your credit card to "buy" a ticket you don't need.

I suspect that might not quite be above board. Certainly in other countries...

UPDATE: Regarding a massive rip-off: Unfortunately, two weeks later, I received a bill from Mobility Hub for €54 for parking. The signage is completely inadequate, and as you can see online, I'm not the only one who feels ripped off. What's the point of charging €54 for a one-hour parking at a leisure facility? How can the operator of this toboggan run let this happen? Or are they in on this money-making machine?

OLD: A summer toboggan run in the middle of the Black Forest, somewhere on an alpine pasture, accessible only via winding roads. The approach is a nightmare for anyone with a weak stomach, but you're rewarded with a steel frame that drags itself up the mountain before hurling you back down again at full speed. Was ist das für eine dreiste Irreführung bzw. Abzocke mit den Parkplatzgebühren? Ein schlechter Scherz oder einfach nur systematische Abzockerei der Besucher und Familien!? Das muss dort recht neu sein und seither hagelt es offensichtlich erst negative Bewertungen. Ich war nach 17Uhr mit meiner Tochter auf einen Stop vor Ort, die kleinen Hinweisschilder die nur an der Einfahrt hängen fallen kaum auf, keine Schranke nichts. Ab dem Parkplatz natürlich bewusst keine erkennbaren Hinweisschilder sonst hätten wir es gesehen. Wir zahlen immer unsere Parkgebühren aber wer ist erstmal darauf gefasst im Waldgebiet mit Gebühren belegt zu werden am Abend!? Das eine ganze Reisegruppe das nicht gesehen hat das man dort zahlen muss, sehr verwunderlich! Es wird einfach das Nummernschild gescannt und 2 Wochen später kommt die Rechnung von 54,00Eur. So weit sind wir schon. Wir kommen nie mehr zu dieser Freizeiteinrichtung und rate jedem dringend davon ab. Und dann noch diese versifften Toiletten. Wie mit den Besuchern umgegangen wird ist absolut beschämend! Die jüngsten Bewertungen sprechen Bände. Was die Rechnung angeht, klar schriftlicher Widerspruch unserer Seite aus. Völlig irreführend.
