The Ravenna Gorge is a steep and narrow side valley of the Höllental. The wild Ravenna stream, with its waterfalls and cascades, paves its way through the valley. The two biggest waterfalls are the Great Ravenna Fall (16 m) and the Little Ravenna Fall (6 m). You should wear sturdy footwear when hiking through the Ravenna Gorge. The green fir trees provide shade on hot summer days. Be careful when it rains, because the wooden footbridges and steps can become slippery.

We visited the annual Christmas Market and overall we really enjoyed it! The location was amazing! There was a wide range of food options and stalls. However, we felt the market had less traditional German Christmas items (Lebkuchen, wooden/straw ornaments). We would recommend purchasing parking or shuttle bus (even if you plan on doing the hike from Hinterzarten) in case of weather changes. We would definitely...
