Just had an unpleasant experience. I merely wanted to test out a few colours of lipstick that I have looked at online for a few months before deciding to test (they are luxury lipsticks and are expensive). I was asked if I wanted help, I said "no thank you, I just want to compare a few colours". And was continually pestered by a sales consultant.
I was then told not to click up the YSL Candy Glaze too far - a product I was not even testing. I was looking at the colours of the YSL Loveshine - 2 different products, and I am aware of the difference because of months of research watching youtube videos and reading the YSL website. I have a Candy Glaze at home, so I am familiar with the packaging and delivery system. I also bought a YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick a few months ago for my birthday from this exact store. So it's not my first experience with luxury lipsticks.
I also know that the Loveshine just came out recently, so I wanted to see a few colours on my hand. I was told one doesn't need to apply it too thickly because then it finds its way into the lip wrinkles. I was only putting the stuff on my hand.
I continued to try and look at colours, and this woman kept dusting the display around me. Then she said "can I ask you why you apply it so thickly?" I merely did 3 swipes on my hand to try to see the colours, as the lighting in the store is so bright that it becomes difficult to see nuances of shades that are very faint in pigment. I said "I would merely like to compare some colours".
I put the lipstick down and said "Schön Tag noch" and left. I was extremely patient and kind and listened while she spoke to me. All I wanted was a few moments for myself on my lunch break to test out a few lipstick shades. I was in the store for maximum 8 minutes, as I didn't have much time before my lunch break ended.
I go into Douglas to find pretty products for myself to make myself feel good. Not to be irritated and pestered and made to feel embarrassed and ashamed of myself. I don't deserve this treatment, especially when I was doing absolutely nothing wrong. I will not be back, and will purchase my cosmetics online...
Read moreHello, dear.. I was visiting douglas store to day in wolfsburg to buy estee lauder serum. But i got unpleasant service experience there. I was in the kassa and going to pay, the girl was asking me if i have douglas card, and i said i have but i didnt bring it with me. I ask her to chek it with my email. Then the girl turn sour to me, with the face that i cant forget, shes then scan my item without saying nothing, then after turn her back to me. like telling me just to go away. Leave my item in the desk. Normally in douglas, we have free samples of parfume or others to offer but was none. I think is not right to treat the customer that way. would be nice if the staff are more friendly...
