Great beach, the drive to get to the car park is on dirt track roads which are very bumpy. This can be driven in a small car but very slowly!

There is a small trailer to buy cold drinks from in the main carpark.

It is about a 25 minute walk from the carpark to the beach through the canyon, there is a path to follow so an easy walk.

The beach is very beautiful and the water is lovely. There are no tourist facilities such as sunbeds or umbrellas so bring this yourself to avoid getting caught in the sun as there is limited shade from the cliffs.

Wonderful place if you are into adventure trips and walking among nature. The walk is some kilometres in the beautiful gorge with big trees and Cretan plants around, the walking path is mostly a winter river bank. Alot people come here for climbing on to the big rocks and adventures walking. You have to have a strong car to reach the place because the road is dusty and with rocks. Ein Stern Abzug für die Schotterstraße. Aber wer sich mit dem Auto ab Kloster die Schotterpiste runter traut, kann bis zum Snack Stand fahren (wir haben etwas 1,5 km vorher geparkt, da wir das letzte trockene Flussbett als ungeeignet zum Durchfahren befunden haben) und ab dort durch die wunderschöne Schlucht wandern. Die "Straße" ist nicht für unerfahren oder ängstliche Fahrer. Als wir wieder oben waren, sah ich einen Einheimischen im Jeep sich auf den Weg runter machen, er bekreuzigte sich dreimal bevor er runter fuhr :-) Macht euch gefasst auf tiefe Rinnen,Schlaglöcher ohne Ende und schiefe Pisten. Sicherlich hat Allrad da Vorteile. Aber es lohnt sich. Es gibt Höhlen, blühenden Oleander, und am Ende öffnet sich an einer kleinen Kapelle die Schlucht hin zu einem tollen Strand mit seichten Wellen. Sauber und einsam. Eigentlich würde ich gern schreiben -geht da nicht hin- den zuviele Touristen beschädigen dann doch die Umwelt dort oder hinterlassen widerlicherweise Müll. Begleitet wird man auf dem Spaziergang von Ziegen und deren Glockengeläut was dem ganzen fast etwas spirituelles gibt. Das Kloster selbst ist auch sehr schön, es lohnt ein Blick und vielleicht kauft ihr dort auch etwas um es zu unterstützen. Dort gibt es übrigens auch eine Toilette, links am Kloster vorbei ist noch ein Tor da geradeaus, die sauber und öffentlich ist.
