Do yourself a favor and save your time and money. There are far more beautiful places around Antigua compared to this place. Let me break it down for you: You pay Q115 Per Person JUST to step foot into this place On top of that, they charge you Q35 for parking. AND you have to spend a minimum of Q150 per person at the restaurant. There is a time limit of only 15 minutes at the mirador. After your 15 min are up, you are told to leave.
You are not allowed to simply enter and just enjoy the mirador, you have to consume at the restaurant. OH! And the food is absolutely horrible! We ordered a “Carnivora” pizza and salad.
The choice of meat they put on the pizza does not go well at all. The flavors were heavy and the taste was not pleasant.
The lettuce in the salad was all warm and soggy from the warm caramelized fruit they put on it. By the end, it looked like lettuce in soup.
Overall, for one person, you’re looking to spend a minimum of Q300. Seriously? There are far better places in el hato to visit than this place that actually serve good food. The mirador wasn’t all it was hyped up to be. Especially not if I am being charged Q115 to enter the establishment and have a time limit of 15 min. No thanks....
Read moreI do not recommend this place. It is overrated and pretentious. To get in, you have to drive through complicated roads, where often there are landslides and you can get stuck. When we arrived to the place, we were required to walk through a mud road uphill, which was very difficult for us, since we went with a baby. Uphill, a golf car took us through the local community. Inside we were required to "register", which meant paying 80 Quetzales per person to enter, plus parking. We explained we were going just for a snack to the restaurant, regardless, everyone had to pay 80 quetzales. The restaurant's menu was plain, a hamburger and some sandwiches. Half an hour after we arrived, a horrible rain started. Only a few tables had a roof, so most of the people got wet and had to squeeze by the tables with a roof. Drinks and the restrooms were not available, since they were in another building. We were stuck, getting wet and cold with 2 crying babies. When we asked for a heater, for the babies, we were told that it had an additional cost of 150 quetzales, but even if we wanted to pay their wood got wet... so no way of getting warm. It was...

From the fake butterflies to the signs from the Instagram Starter Kit and the literal Instagram logos to show you where to take a photo, the place helpfully leads you by the hand to Instagram stardom.
And to top it off, the food is easily the worst we had in Antigua. First, there is one vegetarian item on the menu (Avocado Toast), but as it’s a breakfast item, don’t try to order it after 11am. So, leave your vegetarian friends in town for lunch, because there’s nothing else for them here. And the bean soup… where do I start… well, bean soup usually includes beans. Sometimes rice. Their soup was water that looked as if it had been squeezed from an old sock, with a couple of croutons thrown in for effect. No beans. No flavor. No thank you.
Now, you may be wondering why this place has more than one star… well, the views are fantastic, and the place is clean and well put together. It’s not that you shouldn’t go at all, just be aware of what you’re getting yourself into.
And...
