Nice interior design, level of finish. It's a relief to walk around without constant danger of slipping as in one very popular Reykjavik city baths. Relaxing
The Finnish/Estonian style saunas (and chillout area) are indeed nice with water and ladle for leil, but they don't quite get it right :) For one thing, people sit there in their swimsuits, men and women in both saunas, and secondly, there's some phobia about sweat getting on the woodwork. But if it's such an "unhygienic" environment, why would I want to lay my clean dry bath towel on the boards as the rules implore? The right answer is, of course, not to "sweat it", there's nothing gross about sweat, and if they are worried about a drop of salt water from people's pores getting on wood, they probably shouldn't be running a sauna. :) But if management is still worried, they could provide rolls of the blue film-like material used in Finnish public saunas - also a bit silly and not environmentally neutral but not tragic.
But points for having good electric saunas on top of what is already...
Read moreWow. This pool is incredible. We visited this morning with our 7yo and 1yo and it was pretty quiet apart from several pensioners. We played in the warm baby pool for a while then when a few more children came in they switched on the water slides. There are 2 longer covered flumes and one uncovered jumbo slide into a lovely warm pool. The baby pool has a little toddler slide and mushroom waterfall. There are 3 hotpots with jets, a large steam room, large sauna, plunge pool and swimming pool which is slightly cooler.
As with all public facilities in Reykjavik the changing areas are immaculate, strict rules about showering before getting into swimming costumes and drying thoroughly before getting dressed work really well... as long as everyone follows them. There's a cafe and indoor pool which we didn't have time to use because we were having so much...

Be prepared that you have to remove shoes before entering the changing room. You also have to shower before putting on your costume.
There are 3 big hot-tubs, a sauna, steam room, plunge pool (very cold) and some shoots and kids pools too. The swimming pool is not very long (18-20m I would guess) but a great experience.
When getting dressed, you have to dry off before returning to the lockers. This may all seem a bit much, but it means the whole place is immaculate and no puddles of water to step in when you have your socks on!
Seemed to be lots of other facilities here too - gym, football etc.
