BLIK Bistro & Grill — Restaurant in Mosfellsbær

Booked a table on their website, received a text confirming booking where we could have the table between 6pm - 8pm. We arrived and were promptly taken to our seats, with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Ordered our starter and main course, both of which arrived promptly. We were having a brilliant time, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed our food was great. I gave my husband the rest of my main as I was starting to fill up as i really wanted to leave room for a dessert, this is where it goes downhill! After our main plates had been taken away at 7pm, a staff member comes over, I say, "could we have the dessert menu please?" for her to walk away and come back over to tell us we couldn't have dessert as they need us off our table?! "If you want dessert you'll have to go over there" It was all a bit abrupt and out of the blue! If we couldn't have the table for the usual 2 hours why did they not mention this when we first got there? We basically had to down our drinks and get off the table! It was just odd and really ruined what was a really lovely night until then! This Bistro & Grill was a short distance from our Airbnb house. Just a 10 minute walk. It was highly recommended by the owners and worked out for us after a long day visiting the city of Reykjavik. The menu while on the smaller side had a variety. BLIK offered a 3 course meal for a slight discount. For starters we had Tempura Deep Fried Shrimp and the Beef Carpaccio. For entrées Salted Cod and Fish & Chips and our final dish, dessert was the Brownie with fresh fruit. I would highly recommend the shrimp. The sweet chili sauce was delicious and shrimp was fried beautifully. Carpaccio was decent but lacking enough balsamic vinegar to pull it together. The two entrées were good but we felt lacking seasoning on the fish. The dessert was a nice way finish off the meal. All food was nicely plate and appealing. The staff wa extremely nice. This was a great way to end a drive of the Golden Circle. Service was quick and helpful. Note that you have to pay at the bar.

The vegan steak was incredible, it had great flavor and texture. The fish and chips were moist and crispy in all the right ways.

The indoor seating has an expansive view of water and mountains.

They have an English menu with a variety of wine, beer, and even some faux cocktails.
