This is always a 5star place for the people who like to purchase fresh stock from the farmers or vegetable sellers. You get lot of variety and sometime less seen veggies as well, especially less grown/known vegetables and fruits in South of India.
Early morning until 7am or 8am max - is suggested when you have to get the farmers stock. And for that you need to walk through the end of the market, where they sit. Especially the greens are best in their stock, with rare seasonal varieties too. However late morning and day is still good to get the vegetables, but with limited operational stores.
This is the traditional vegetable and fruits purchasing area with experience akin to olden days (and still prevalent in towns/villages), with bags carried and selection and bargaining principles being applied and talks w/ vegetable vendors, and amiable exchange of expressions and greets.
Recommended to go with carry bags (cloth/jute/..). And also suggested to go with kids to show them the real spectrum of people associated with such ground level contribution for nation's health and well-being building - "The farmers". Otherwise, ironically they just know the supermarket part of the supply chain, in this spectrum.
In all, it is good for those who feel good to see the "happy" whole set of vegetables and fruits, and select from, before they see it being served on their platter.
Btw, there are also other stores as part of the Market area - for nonveg lovers, including eggs and fishes. And many other of peculiar interest and need of food lovers, who feel lively seeing such stock around.
Thanks and...
