Excellent place to visit. I believe this is the best place to visit in whole Dalhousie. Yes people usually get attracted to Dalhousie to go to Khajjiar. However, you should not miss this place at any cost, just check my pics and videos. The whole hike is just hardly 30min one side (depending on your capabilities). You can visit the temple or just go and sit at the top of a 360° view, which is crazy good. You can complete the whole Dalhousie in a single day. Personally I would prefer to spend more time here than khajjiar and honestly you can ignore that panchkula altogether if you don't have time because in the name of waterfall it's literally just a water stream almost like a water is burst on the top (maybe it could be because I visited in December but nevertheless even videos says the same). So, whatever vehicle you take, spend a few hours in khajjiar depending on the month you visit, take as many hours for daikund peak and then if you want you can visit panchkula waterfall. Honestly, I did Kheerganga trek hoping to find a 360° view but to my disappointment it doesn't have (don't get me wrong it's a great place altogether, in fact my go to) but only 30-40 min of hike will get you to a 360 view is crazy good. One of my bucket list items is...
Read moreUndoubtedly the best part of my Khajjiar road trip⤠This is a two km long trek through the lesser Himalayan hills covered with sprawling greenery, small wild flowers and deodar trees. There is a well tarred road till the starting point of the trek, which ends at the entry to airforce station. You can park your car by the roadside there and climb uphill. It's an easy to moderate trek and the entire trek route is either cemented or paved with tiles or pebbles. You can see the towering Himalayas at the horizon. The trek ends at the Pauloni mata temple which is a temple dedicated for goddess Kali, who is believed to have saved the local people from the witch residing at the Dainkund as per the local folklore. The beauty of the place is mesmerizing and the weather is awesome. From the temple, you can view mount Kailash if the sky is clear (I was lucky enough to view it, so I am posting a photo of the same below) . Dainkund takes it name from the pond which is mentioned in the local folklore, which is believed to be a witches aboard. Unfortunately, the pond is within the airforce property now, so tourists...
