It's a perfect trekking adventure for newbie. The site is located in a protected forest controlled by Karnataka forest department and will allow only people after 0900 hrs. The site has 400 steps to climb to first reach where temple is located.
From the side of temple one has to trek up on top of the hill. The trek in this portion is really adventurous. The final climb to last rock is with the help of steps cut into rock with railing attached on both sides. It's a steep climb and almost get to 90 degree climb in final seven to eight steps. However, since supporting railings are available everyone can climb easily.
Once you are on top the views are marvelous. One can see the complete range. The Bangalore Mysore highway, rail track etc is visible from top. The views all along are pretty and beautiful. One can spend some time there to enjoy the beauty and the peaceful atmosphere.
One needs to be careful while climbing down. It's better to climb downwards backwards by keeping body towards steps. Worth a visit to enjoy but of adventure and the nature. One can spend about between one to two hours there.
