Malamel is a village in Pathanapuram Taluk in Kollam district, Kerala, India. This village is situated between Anchal and Valakom by-pass road. In Malayalam language Malamel means, "Top of the hill"šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„. Gazing down from the heights, you'll find solace in the enchanting beauty of Kollam district's rural . As you make your way to the top of Malamel Para, be ready for a delightful surprise: the enchanting dance of floating clouds and the revitalizing mountain breeze, delivering a moment of sheer wonder. The destination, nestled amid lush greenery, would provide a birds-eye view of villages including Anchal, Kulathupuzha, Channappetta, and Kudukkathupara. Malamel may also be the only spot where sandalwood trees naturally grow in non-forest settings. Along with the breathtaking vista, the breeze coming in from the dense sandalwood trees also delivers the lovely scent of the sandalwood and lemon grass that grows in the meadows. A number of hillocks, including Kochunadukanippara, Pullakkampara, Ambalampara, Kombukuthipara, Kudappara, Golandarappara, Nadappara, and Shankoothupara, encircle the area. The inhabitants have a strong belief that these temples bring prosperity to the region. The charm of this spot is highlighted by a small cave-like thing that separates Nadappara and Nadukanippara.

MalamelĀ is a village in Pathanapuram Taluk inĀ Kollam district,Ā Kerala, India. This village is situated betweenĀ AnchalĀ andĀ ValakomĀ by-pass road. At Malamel, there is a huge rock on which there is a famous Shiva Temple. Temple festival is held on 3 December. The temple has 5 doors and is considered to be divine and ancient because of the close proximity ofĀ JadayuparaĀ (Chadayamangalam) (the rock thatĀ JadayuĀ carried on his wings). It has also a cave at extreme left of the temple, into which a British Adventurer in the year 1946, tried in vain to venture, and which leads to theĀ Kulathupuzha Forest. This cave is believed to be a haven for very venomous snakes. Famous temples likeĀ Arackal Devi TempleĀ andĀ Perumannur Devi TempleĀ are nearby.Ā Kottarakara Sree Mahaganapathy KshethramĀ is 12Ā km away. KottarakaraĀ andĀ PunalurĀ are the towns nearest to the village.

Malamel is a beautiful village located in Pathanapuram Taluk in Kollam district, Kerala, India. This village is situated between Anchal and Valakom by-pass road. Malamel in English means "Top of the hill". Malamel is famous for the Shiva temple and behind it, there is a huge rock that is now under the department of tourism govt of Kerala. It is a beautiful hilltop. You can find a 360° view of the whole area. The nearest tourist attraction is Jatayupara (Chadayamangalam) located approximately 15km from there. It’s a very beautiful place to visit especially in the morning and evening time. Very calm and quiet atmosphere. It is a nice spot for photography. The place is even more attractive with the presence of temples. There are lots of monkeys there. We can see so many rocks there and it’s an ideal place for hiking. You can go there with your friends and family. Earlier it was an open place. But now it is taken by DTPC, the entrance fee is only ₹20, which is worth it. The old Shiva temple on the top is a must-visit place. It is constructed in an old style. It is easy to reach the place. A must-visit place for mind...

Malamel comes under Arakkal Village of Edamulakkal Grama Panchayat in Pathanapuram Taluk of Kollam district. The place is bordered by a series of hillocks – the Ayiravallippara, Pullakkampara, Ambalampara, Kombukuthipara, Kudappara, Golandarappara, Nadappara, Kochunadukanippara, Nadukanippara and Shankoothupara. When you visit the place, don't forget to visit the Arakkal Devi Temple and Sankaranarayana Temple, which are now managed by Travancore Devaswom Board. These temples, they believe, bring prosperity to the land.

The trekking starts from near the Arakkal Devi Temple. It is a steep road with sandalwood and other wild trees on either side. After a 200-meter walk, you reach Ayiravallippara. Climb on the rocks, look down and you see Anchal, Kulathupuzha, Chanappetta and Kudukkathupara at a distance. When you stand here, you will get to realise why the locals took up a stir. The crusher units, now abandoned, jar the beauty of the rocks. Now undertaken by DTPC (district tourism...
