Nestled in the lap of green nature, surrounded by hills and the majestic Arabian Sea, the Mother Velankanni Church at Bhate Bunder in Uttan near Bhayandar, has now become a famous pilgrim centre. The church dedicated to Our Lady of Good Health, in the course of years has grown into a shrine, popularly known as Bhate Bunder Mathe Velankanni Teerth Mandir, visited every year by lakhs of devotees belonging to various faiths from around the globe. The church was built by Monsieur Francis Correa nearly thirty years ago. According to locals, during his routine visit to Bhate Bunder coast, Correa was inspired to create the church when he was standing besides the Cross of Brother Herman, a Missionary who tutored local children of this area more than 150 years ago. To cater to the huge crowd of visiting devotees, especially during the annual feast from August 29 to September 8, the church was remodeled to a new and modern spacious one in the year 2000. The simple yet assertive design of the structure with a panoramic waterfront location makes it an architectural marvel. The extensively decorated background of the altars dedicated to Jesus Christ and Our Lady of Velankanni makes it look beautiful. However, the interiors are relatively simple, yet elegant displaying charm and beauty.

Hellooo good morning, Im Nazareth Anthony, from bangalore, i had come to a function last week to uttan, i visited Velankanni shrine in Bhatebandar mata velankanni church and attended Mass, i was like very happy, already i visited the shrine two yrs before, but i never thought i would visit again its a great Miracle, well we had bus next day to return to our state, so all was well and our journey, stay everything was fantastic, then while travelling i remembered that i kept my Gold Jewellery in my hand bag, i thought il just check if its safe, but the jewellery is missing, i was shocked i started sweating, then i remembered Mother of uttan, i started to pray, and after reaching home i checked the suit case to my surprise the gold jewellery was in the suit case, four days it was in my hand bag itself i dont remember when i kept in suitcase, no i didnt keep at all, THIS IS A MIRACLE OF MOTHER OF VELANKANNI, UTTAN, I THANK MOTHER OF VELANKANNI AND IM SENDING RS.1000/ AS MY DONATION TO THE CHURCH, THANK YOU MOTHER MARY, YOU ARE GREAT AND VERY HELPING HAND TO ALL THE PEOPLE...
