The Katulampa Dam was built by the Dutch East Indies government when the flash floods inundated Batavia in 1872. Apart from serving as an early warning for flood disasters, this weir also served as part of the eastern sewer irrigation system for thousands of hectares of rice fields in the Bogor area, Cibinong, Depok and Jakarta. The dam, which has a total length of 74 meters, 5 inlets and 3 outlets, reflects the amazing view of the swift water pouring out of this dam.
