I loved staying here! It was so peaceful and the service was impeccable. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The bed is comfortable and it is very well kept with turndown service in the evenings. Given the there are only 5 villa’s, they really make you feel like family. If there is something you mention you’d like to have, they will go out of their way to make it happen. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Although I absolutely loved this villa, there were a couple of downsides. I gave 4 stars for location because I think the name Micaela Bail Ubud gives the impression that it is located in Ubud, when in fact it is outside of Ubud, in Tegallalang. This is about 50 minutes from the Ubud Center, with traffic, which is highly likely. And about 2 1/2 hours to the airport. And it is not walkable to anything, so plan to have to take transportation everywhere. They do not offer transportation services, but will transportation for you.
While the food is very good, the portions are small and the menu is extremely limited. I only eat seafood or vegetarian and there were only 2-3 things on the menu that I could eat. They did offer to go to the store to accommodate me, which I declined because I didn’t want to be a bother. However, I believe some consideration could be given to offering a couple more options on the menu for guests who don’t eat meat.
Other than that, it’s a great place to stay for...
Read moreBeautiful property and so peaceful. I stayed in one of the 4 villas that backed up to the forest/jungle. It was peaceful, serene, and almost 100% private. When you’re on the bungee cord hammock you can see easily your neighbor to the left, their pool area, and straight into their room when you turn your head. However it is such a treat to have your own space and private pool. The pool is refreshing . It’s a bit cooler where the villas are, I’d bring something cozy, but not heavy.
The staff work hard to keep the rooms remarkably clean, especially being in the jungle.
It’s nice to lay in bed and just look outside. I spent half a day just enjoying the space. The bathtub is deep and has hot water. I used it daily, it was lovely.
The staff is kind and helpful. They are reachable via WhatsApp as well as the chef. Breakfast was substantial and good. I also ate dinner there twice.
You can book a massage through the hotel and the masseuse comes to their spa. If you’re looking for a relaxation massage you will get that. If you’re looking for something therapeutic, temper your expectations.
To get around you’ll need your own transportation method or have a driver. The staff can help you with that.
I had Ardy as my driver twice. He was kind and punctual. He even showed me his family’s land so that I could see how the “Balinese really live.”
I quite enjoyed my...
Read moreStumbled across this hidden gem of a homestay surrounded by greenery, right in the heart of Ubud and just a short ride from Tegalalang. We booked the villa with a private pool and hammock, such a good spot to chill and unwind.
The toilet was massive (honestly didn’t expect that!) and even had a huge bathtub. The bed was super comfy, probably the best mattress I’ve had in Bali so far.
If you’re planning to stay around Ubud or even heading towards Kintamani, this place is definitely worth checking out.
What really stood out was the food. I found out from the super friendly host that they have a proper commercial kitchen, which totally explains why everything tasted so good. The fried rice with roasted pork belly was my fav!!
They also offered in-house massage, and we tried the Balinese massage and it was so good! Super relaxing and the best part was we didn’t even have to leave the villa for it.
Such a lovely stay and wish we had more time there. Wanted to book for another night but sadly it was fully booked. Will come back to this place again for by annual visit to...
