Akau Potong Lembu offers an amazing variety of street food, and overall, I truly enjoyed the experience. The vibrant atmosphere and delicious local dishes make it a great spot for food lovers.
However, there was one deeply disappointing encounter with a particular lady hawker. She openly displayed discrimination against Chinese customers, refusing to let us and others sit at certain tablesβeven though the tables were actually open for public use and not owned by her stall. She kept insisting that the tables were βreserved,β yet they remained empty until Malay customers arrived, whom she welcomed with a smile and told there was no reservation. Some customers were even forced to leave immediately after receiving their food, having to find another place to eat.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable. As visitors and paying customers, we are here to enjoy the food, not to beg for a seat. Such treatment goes against the warm and hospitable culture Indonesia is known for. I sincerely hope the management or local authorities address this issue to ensure a fair and welcoming environment for all diners.
For those who want to be aware, I have shared a picture of the stall on Google Reviews and trip advisor, so others can take note of...

Price: cheapest in Bintan
Ambience: 4/5 - recently renovated so much cleaner vibe
Service: 5/5 - super friendly and helpful. All the vendors know each other and will provide recommendations as to what to eat and buy
Location: 2 hour drive from Lagoi resorts. Recommend to go here if staying at Tanjong Pinang or arrange a full day trip to Tanjong Pinang with shopping etc
Been here twice. The cheapest you can find in Bintan. The variety is a lot and once you are here, be sure to try the Ice Chendol and goreng pisang keju. The satay at this night market is also delicious! Guarantee you canβt find other places goreng pisang keju as nice as here. The ice chendol is also only unique to this night market. Would recommend when you are in Tanjung Pinang, be sure to stop by here.
Tip: go around 8pm for more seatings
There is also another night market at Tepi Laouk but variety not as...

Beda), cendol, o luak (oyster omelette), cha kue (fried carrot cake), mie ekonomi, kwetiaw/mie/bihun siram, teh tarik, gorengan baso ikan (ini opsinya buanyakk banget), Ayam goreng rasa yakin, Nasi A8 (Non halal), Lou Peng (Non halal), Sate Babi (Non Halal), Pisang goreng keju sudut, Teh herbal sebelah sate babi dan masihhh banyak lagi sih sebenarnya.
Cara ordernya gimana??
Jam-jam rame (abis Maghrib sampe jam 9 malam), cari meja agak susah soalnya.
Harga makanan disini variatif. Bawa 50 ribu udah kenyang banget banget. Mie ekonomi disini start dr 13.000, kalau request 15.000 udah bisa untuk makan 2 orang wkwk (pengalaman soalnya).
Intinya, Kalau ke Tanjungpinang tapi belum mampir ke Akau, berarti belum benar-benar ke Tanjungpinang hihi.
Oh disini jalanan nya agak kecil, bawa mobil bisa, tapii kadang ga kebagian tempat parkir, pakai motor...
