This reservoir was built in the early years of World War II in 1320. Its construction has lasted for 2 years. All the cost of its construction was paid by Rostam Giv, who was the representative of Zoroastrians in the National Assembly. The architect of this historical monument is Haj Mohammad Ebrahim Khorramshahi and the supervision of its construction was carried out by Arbab Jamshid Amanat. Among other features, it has two openings that the two Zoroastrian and Muslim neighborhoods, which were 2 kilometers apart, could use it. این آب‌انبار، اوایل سالهای جنگ جهانی دوم سال ۱۳۲۰ ساخته شده. عملیات ساخت آن، ۲ سال طول انجامیده است. تمام هزینه ساخت آن توسط رستم گیو که نماینده وقت زرتشتیان در مجلس شورای ملی بود انجام شد. معمار این بنای تاریخی استاد حاج محمد ابراهیم خرمشاهی است و نظارت بر ساخت آن را ارباب جمشید امانت بر عهده داشته‌است. از دیگر ویژگی‌ها، این است که دارای دو دهانه است که دو محله زرتشتیان و مسلمانان که با فاصله ۲ کیلومتر دور از هم قرار داشتند، می‌توانستند از آن استفاده کنند.

در ادامه سفر یزد به آب انبار رستم گیو سرمیزنیم. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ ‌‌‌‌‌‌ آب انبار رستم گیو واقع در محله زرتشتیان یزد است که مربوط به دوره قاجار است، با گنبدی شلغمی شکل که بر نمای بیرونی آن به وسیله آجر طرح سرو فرش شده و بادگیر چهار طرفه بلند و زیبای آن چشم هر بیننده ای را مجذوب خود می کند. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ ساخت این آب انبار حدود 1320 ش. شروع شد و دو سال به طول انجامید. عمق خزینه این آب انبار 15 متر و قطر دهانه خزینه آن 14 متر است. ‌‌‌‌‌‌ ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ این آب انبار دودهانه ورودی در دو محله مختلف دارد.این آب انبار در فهرست آثار ملی به ثبت رسیده است. ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ هدف از ساخت آب انبارها نوعی مخازن سرپوشیده بوده است که در سطح پایین تری از سطح زمین قرار می گرفتند و برای تامین آب مورد نیاز مردم نقش بسیار پر رنگ و حیاتی داشته اند.
