Apr 2022 One of the beautiful bridges in Baghadad, and it is the oldest one too. Facts: - One way, from Rusafa to Karkh - The old Baghdad in the early 20 century, had only this bridge - On Rusafa side, it leads to Al-Mustansriya Medrasa from the Abbasi Caliphate, and the old area of Alwarraqeen (those who write), which is converted to government offices during Ottoman period, then to Al-Mutanabi street during the Iraqi Kingdom period until now. It has a nice lanterns and view on both side of the bridge.

One of Baghdad’s most iconic bridges and one of the oldest as well, it connects Shawaka district in the Karkh side with the old square of Baghdad in the Rasafa side, it’s very beautiful but it needs maintenance and way more care than currently.

Martyrs' Bridge (formerly Al-Ma'mun Bridge) is one of thirteen bridges located on the Tigris River in Baghdad, Iraq. The bridge connects Haifa Street and Al-Shawaka Street in Al-Karkh to Al-Rashid Street in Al-Rusafa. It was built by the English company Holloway Brothers (London) Ltd in 1937, and opened on July 15, 1939. It is the first fixed bridge built in Baghdad on the Tigris River. It is 500 feet (about 215 meters) long and 50 feet (about 15 meters) wide. Before that, there was an old bridge in its place, which was built on the bridge. It was removed after it was built, and it was called...
