Cork Airport is very good airport and its a credit to the staff as they are so courteous, friendly and attentive. They will help you with any issue that you may have and get you to where you are going no matter what! In recent years I've see the airport grow and it is steadily getting more destinations which is great as it is a super handy airport to fly from! It would be great to get some more direct United States flights however, you can get a connecting flight to the US no bother through Cork and I honestly don't know why I haven't used it more when its so close by! The duty free shop has a wide range of Irish products like many Irish airports and the WHSmith store is great for getting any snacks or last minute present or csouvenirs that you may need! There are two lovely restaurants in the airport after the security control and I have gotten the full Irish Fry many times while passing through. I believe one of these restaurants "Food Republic" seems to be closed. This may have only been the case on the day I was in the airport. I know that AMT coffee do nice hot drinks and sweet treats. The staff there are lovely and helpful. They are are worth stopping bye if you have time before you fly. There is also a great bar located at the end of the airport terminal which is the other restaurant within the terminal. They serve great food and have great options to drink from! I do not know if they are opened or closed as I did not have the time to make my way down to that end of the airport before my flight. Utilities wise, there are some phone and laptop charging points located next to some but not all of the seats in the departure area. Its worth checking to see if the plugs are working as I noticed the socket that I tried wasn't working however, I had enough battery power so I was not too concerned. This may not be the case in your situation and the last thing you want to do is plug in, sit down while waiting for your flight to only realise after some time has passed that the socket wasn't working. The airport is very accessible and it is located outside Cork City just up the hill from the South Ring's Kinsale Road Roundabout. If you don't drive you can get one of the many buses that frequent the airport on their route or if you choose to drive you can park your car in the adjacent carparks close by! You can also get a taxi from the city which is not too expensive and they will drop you off right outside of the terminal! Its worth noting that the airport feels very secure as the security personnel and the airport police are always walking and driving around which...

Update (04/01/25) Pick up/drop off area time has been reduced from 15mins to 10mins. Public transport access (not everything has to go through Cork city 🤡) could be improved if they are to start implementing charges through for this service just like any other airports. Always pick Cork airport over Dublin. It's a small airport and as a frequent flyer, it's great to fly in and out of and not be in a bus for 3 hours to get in the door of your home.

Increased traffic of passengers is noticeable. There is only 1 queue to get through security which doesn't make sense as they offer a fast pass through airport security, yet there's no security to implement this. A queue to suit families with small kids might also be helpful as it can get chaotic and leave some passengers disgruntled as some passengers appear 'to skip the queue'.

A clear 1 litre(!) bag is allowed to bring liquids through; the trays are noticeably tiny and you'd need at least 4 as electronics & liquids need a separate tray. The seating area after security can be scarce when it's busy. The 'duty free' is spacious but feels barren, and could benefit from a small chemist to pick up forgotten essentials/medications.

The airport could be independent from Dublin airport to introduce more routes in and out of Cork. We appreciate having a water refilling station through security. It has a limited number of shops once you're through. It's evident that they've done a lot of work, come across friendly members of staff. Always appreciate the 'Welcome home ...' from immigration officers, it's a nice touch. Common sense could go a mile away amongst anyone using...

Lovely to come home Great flight with Aer Lingus which arrived right on time from Heathrow. We were told for social distancing purposes each row number would be called out when to exit the plane. This did not happen and people just got off as normal. On entering the airport we joined a queue going towards the left. Another queue was coming up the other side o the right. At first we thought this right hand queue was passengers going out but the we realised it was passengers from the plane that just came I. There were yellow markings on the floor about distancing but about 1% of people took notice. The queue took ages to move. Finally when we got near we found that only one desk was open. Unreal!! Eventually another desk was opened. The bags were off the carousel and anybody could have walked off with them as there was no one around checking!! It took us one hour to get out of the airport building from the time we landed. Then the person collecting us had to pay at the machine so that we could get out as obviously we did not make it out in 15 mins. Staff very nice but maybe more needed when flights arrive in. Also do not forget your Covid Certificate and Passenger Location Form as these have to be produced. Be...

I had virtually no wait at any point. My bags were on the carousel in no time including my oversized bag. Doesn’t get much better
