A mature course beautifully set beside the Shannon estuary. This 18 hole Championship course offers a challenging round of golf for all levels of golfer. Mainly a flat course. Winds off the estuary can blow and as anywhere, give an extra challenge. The greens are large and always in excellent condition. For those visiting from outside of the Clare and Limerick area be aware that the course is at the back of Shannon Airport and the runway is adjacent to the course so it can get loud on the odd occasion. It's a tight track where being straight off the tee is the key to a good score. The signature 17th hole is a 215 yrd (medal tee) over the estuary and into the prevailing wind and can often be as much as a driver - the very epitome of a card wrecker. The clubhouse is comfortable and friendly with a wide selection of excellent food and drink. Compared to many, green fees for visitors are reasonable (check with the pro shop for seasonal rates) and really this should be on every golfers...
