I wasn't going to write this review. I just wasn't going to recommend Revas Spa to people. I was so looking forward to my day out at Revas Spa on their monthly special.. I'd received vouchers for christmas and was thrilled as i normally wouldnt have the extra cash to spend on myself... but with the vouchers id recieved i decided to add a trip to the hair salon for a wash and blowdry and do the Afternoon tea experience also.. My friend and I had arrived on time as our booking was for 10am. But all I can say is... this WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE... as we walked into the main entrance hall all the blinds were closed so it was dark and unappealing. We were escorted to a seated area and filled out our details and brought into the changing rooms we were hit by a bad smell from a sink or drain!! The hand dryer didnt work and we had to use toilet paper to dry our hands. We got changed and we were taken for our treatments first.. I'd known that normally you'd be taken to the sauna and steam room first. I asked why this was happening... and was told this is the way it is now!!! Nothing about the treatment was explained I was just told to get onto the bed and my therapist would be back.. after the treatment which was only ok we were taking to the relaxing room which were freezing!! We were given plastic glasses with our drink in!! .. after a while we were taken to the sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. As the other people who were in these rooms were called out for their treatments, I was bemused by what I was told at the start of the morning!! Treatments first!!! We stayed about half hour and really enjoyed this part, as the sun was out. We got changed and went to the hair salon were I had a fab girl do a lovely wavy blowdry.. but that fell out less than half hour later. We asked for 2 glasses of Prosecco. (yet again in plastic glasses). On to the afternoon tea.. this will surely be nice.. I'd heard it was good .... the table wasn't set properly I didn't have cutlery or a napkin. It looked like the room wasn't set from the previous sitting!! We got our tea.. but they hadn't put enough tea bags in it (would have liked if tea leaves had been used) !!! Had looked for a hot pot of water too . Didn't get that either. We'd looked for water to drink.. on a station at the side we saw a water jug (but it was water in it!!! ) with used glasses.. and eventually had to go back into the spa to get it.. so we ate what we could and went to settle up at reception.. we weren't asked how our day was.. did we enjoy it or if everything was OK!!!!??? but WAS handed a basket with products in.. i asked what were these about and was told these are what the therapist recommended after out treatments.. Which was news to me as the therapist didn't say a word!!! I was so disappointed by my experience, it had been highly recommended by friends and family and had also read about the award that the Spa had won only a few weeks previous. It must have been a different place that the secret Clint went to, or else Revas had a tip off and pulled out all the stops on THAT day. I've a €50 voucher remaining.. I won't...
Read moreOn making my appointment I was told my treatment first and then the thermal spa, when I questioned that and said its usually the other way around it was quickly changed. I was taking into an area( very badly lit) to fill in my consultation form and was left waiting. After being shown into the change room I requested to see the thermal suit as by then I had only just 45 minutes left until my treatment and I didn't see the point in changing into swim wear for that short a time. The Thermal suit was freezing and I opted to use the relaxation suit. I was promised a glass of water ( which never arrived) I eventually walked to the reception to get a glass of water. My therapist came to collect me and I was seen to a upstairs treatment room. As I had opted for the monthly special ( a chocolate/ orange body scrub with application of body butter after scrub and mini facial) €109 I was told to lie on the bed, the therapist started with applying the scrub, which I could not feel at all, when questioning her, I was told its very gentle. I was asked if I would like everything scrubbed to which I said yes please. The back stopped at the waist and the legs about halfway up the thigh, then turn over, was asked if I wanted my belly done, again I replied yes please. There was no pressure applied ( I had various body scrubs before but never like this) After the shower( looking forward to the application of the body butter ( fat chance) it was applied with a brush, when questioning that I was told it applies more evenly like this . Requesting about body butter for belly and was told that they are only have pots with a certain amount of cream and there was not enough to apply to belly. Now the mini facial( what a joke) nothing was explained about the product or the procedure, whatever it was, was slapped on to my face, the only area massaged where my cheeks and everything into my hair, taken of and more cream slapped onto my face. In general a very bad experience, the therapist was professional and courteous but no conversation, not a pleasant experience, After being brought down to the relaxation area, fruit and a fruit drink was served. I only stayed a few minutes, as I had to wash my hair which was totally messed up and yes that happens with a proper facial but then a headband is provided. Ended up having a shower just to wash my hair, the towels where terrible, one had bleach marks and the other one smelled as if it had not been washed. So overhaul not a great experience, if I didn't have a voucher and had to pay for this I would be even more upset. Definitely...
Read moreEvery special occasion we give our mother a substantial voucher for Revas spa as she goes regularly. She is pretty flexible with her time as she is retired, she was recommended to go to a certain therapist, when booking she went on choose her name/ what days she was available/ what times she was available. After her time in the thermal suite a therapist collected her but was unfortunately not the therapist she requested. After her massage while paying she said to the receptionist why was she not put with the therapist she had requested. The receptionist response was well you’ve never been with that therapist before and you didn’t leave a note. My mother was not given a satisfactory answer as to why they didn’t provide her with the therapist that she had requested. If you didn’t care what therapist you got you would put it in as no preference you wouldn’t go to the effort of choosing a therapist with only specific...
