One of my favourite places to walk. So peaceful and so many trails. Always have my dog off the lead and its the perfect place to let dogs roam but beware of people on horses and also lots of deer dropping around although never seen deer but you really need to be confident in your control over your dog. Part of the Dublin Mountain Way and an interesting trail with a bit of climbing and stepping over rocks. Lovely view of the scalp on the scalp...

The Scalp, Barnaslingan, a 12,000 year old Ige Age remnant. The melting, retreating glazier left a huge glazial lake on the north side of that 230 metre high hill. The Scalp, meaning chasm, was the weak spot. The glazial lake's floodwaters, over a 600 year period, tore that V shaped wedge out of that hill, they say.
