Had a wonderful days golf at the Tom Dowdall invitational. The course was spectacular, and the scenery on some holes was breathtaking, looking out over the Irish sea. I must compliment the ground staff and green keepers. Fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were the best I've putted on for a long time. It is a wonderfully challenging course with plenty of negotiation needed around the tree lined fairways and fairway bunkers , which is what every golfer wants. The food afterwards was Michelin star 🌟 quality, just what was needed after 18 holes. The clubhouse is a lovely mix of where old meets new, you will notice this as you drive in the long tree lined entrance, the beautiful old buildings maintained to an exceptional standard, wonderful photographs on the walls of years gone by, trophy cabinet full of trophies, fond memories for many of the members I'm sure. Any one looking for a special days golf, to make their own memories and have a great golfing experience? Try Woodbrook. I would strongly recommend to give the pro shop a call, you'll find it hard to beat. Keep up the good work everyone be very proud of what has been achieved and maintained here for over a century !! I will definitely be returning...
Read moreI had the privilege of visiting Woodbrook golf club for the first time today. It was a damp morning which spoiled the spectacular views a bit but it had cleared up a lot by the time we came to the hole called Bray Head.Woodbrook plain and simple is a top class course in a beautiful setting along the coast. It was in excellent condition and was a joy to play.Hollowtining on some greens has been carried out but green staff can be forgiven for carrying out this necessary work.I loved the course and its a bit different to other courses having 5 par 5s and 5 par 3s.The caddymaster, pro and staff in bar were very helpful and friendly. If you haven't played this historic course yet I recommend you do soon.Looking forward to another...
Read moreThe best golf course I have ever played. I've always wanted to get out on this course. Its quite hard to get out on but it's worth the try. Immaculate is the best description of it. The pine threes and the undulating greens would make you think of what it could be like to play Augusta, then you come out onto the 10th,11th and 12 and you have a view of Bray that I've never seen in 27 years of living here in Bray. Out over the cliffs, with the fluffy sand bunkers and the wind having its influence, its a lot like a great links course. It would remind you of the 18th in Blaineroe but way way way nicer. I'd love to get the chance to...
