It is located in the townland of Latlurcan, Monaghan town in the ecclesiastical parish of Monaghan and Rackwallace. It was built between the years of 1861 and 1893 and is the only Catholic cathedral in the county.

This is an absolutely beautiful cathedral. The roof construction is similar to old long boats, with wooden slits, and huge decorated wooden buttresses. The stained glass windows are very detailed and incredibly beautiful. There's lots of stunning plasterwork and sculptured stone. There's an amazing modern piece behind the altar. Wonderful to...
