Brooks Supermarket — Local services in The Municipal District of Gorey — Kilmuckridge

I for one am not a fan of any shop that is privately owned as they usually tend to have their prices on every day items through the roof, this is no exception for Brooks, for instance a price check on every day items I did between Aldi on the same items showed a huge gap , standard jar of Mayo was 40 cents more expensive in brooks , their cereal was in some cases 2 euro more expensive , the only item in the shop I could find for the same price in other shops was the milk , even their out door furniture looks very over priced. the store is located in the heart of all the holiday homes so it is more geared towards the tourist group, expensive cheeses and selection of hams and fruits all marked up on prices, if your looking for a cheap local like a Centra or spar this is not your place . be prepared to get very little for a lot of money . This isn't me being cheap this is a fact the prices are all marked up in this store and there is no denying it , I will give in to the fact they have some huge selections of foods and all varied from all parts of the world , the deli and butchers are also very good , the meat selections are fantastic . but again the prices of everyday items in this store are not great . There’s a young lad called Jamie working in brooks. I would just like to say he is a brilliant young man he was very helpful I made an order over the phone to be delivered there was a couple of items unavailable and he found alternatives and also came down to me on his scooter because I was in need of some stuff and couldn’t get out in the rain so I’d have my delivery and wouldn’t have to wait for the delivery service to start in an hours time, overall he was just very helpful and I appreciate it. Fantastic local store that has a bit of everything. Great deli bar and ready to go meals. Their coleslaw is delicious! Cakes are a little pricey but really good. Their garden furniture is lovely. It's great to get these things locally. The staff are amazing, always super pleasant. Just what you want if you're on holiday for the weekend. You can always pick up something to amuse the children with in this store. The store has been made bigger in recent years, and the upgrading has been greatly appreciated by the locals...
