July 31, 2023 Three stars,
Positives: It was quiet, clean, free, there were showers, bathroom and changing area easy on/off main roadway for a quick dip in the water. Plenty of chairs/loungers/umbrellas. I’m sure it was quiet because we did a stop at height of a hot day.
Negatives: 1)Changing area: FULLY visible to construction happening right behind it. There was no way I was going to be able to change without being in full view of the workers who were working above the changing area.
Parking: There appears to be a resort being built on the site that google shows parking as the directions wanted us to turn into a construction gate. We used the dirt lot right next to the site as did quite a few others.
No mud here. There was about 1.5-2” deep of what I will call salt balls. They ranged from sand salt to about large marble sized balls. If you take sandals in, it will get in your shoes and hurt, if barefoot-you best not be tender footed. Best thing is as soon as you can sit…float to under an umbrella. Lol, we swam out to avoid most of the walking on the salt.

There is a mall nearby with veg food options.

While returning, you can travel...
Read moreDead Sea was huge on my list to visit and honestly got disappointed. I get the need to make a money out of a tourist spot for country economy and all but it felt too commercialized to actually enjoy. Not to mention the construction next to the beach and get a view of the factories on the other side. I looked at more wild beaches but it said you need 4x4 to get there cuz there isn’t actual road and I had a small rental, didn’t wanna risk it. Salt “mushrooms” were blocked off by construction (tho a lot of people myself included still walked up there) Good thing about it is the showers everywhere - to get the salt water off your skin! The amount of salt in the water makes your...
