I really loved this place, mozzarella is amazing and the whole property is beautiful. It is an organic farm and organic mozzarella, which is great, but it is a shame that the buffalo cows (that give the milk) are not allowed to go outside at all. I'm not a welfare animal expert, but the cows did seem happy and the milking machine is automated and knows when to pull the milk out (as it senses when the cow is ready). Also, the cows need to go through the milking machine in order to get to the food, so one can say they're not forced to go by human hand, they are conditioned to go through the machine. There were dejects all over the floor and their paws were filthy as well - I'm sure if they could walk around outside part of the day, this would be fixed. Also, this particular species is a water buffalo, so it is a shame that they don't have access to a small pond/pool.

We went on a Sunday, and the place is very busy. Lots of individual cars and a few buses. There is plenty of parking. You will need to make reservations to do anything here ahead of time because they are so busy. We did call ahead but didn’t get an answer so we decided just to go. You can walk around the grounds and see the animals, but unless you have made reservations, you will not be able to purchase the cheese or do the tasting. He did enjoy looking around, then we went elsewhere to purchase cheese and yogurt. Maybe at a different time it wouldn’t be as busy and reservations wouldnt be necessary.

Definitely worth a visit if you like mozzarella! During the 1-hour tour, they show the process of mozzarella production including the buffalos that get Mozart music and massage to produce the highest quality of milk. Really high-end, animal friendly farm equipped with the state of the art milking machines! The group tour costs 5 euros per person and includes the mozzarella tasting (which has a super interesting texture and rich taste). You need to call them after 9 am to book a tour. They also sell great bread, as well as yogurt and desserts that use the buffalo milk.

I went to this place more than four years ago when I used to live in Italy. Now I am back and went last Monday. I tried to buy mozzarella, because I think it is really good, but they said I needed to make a reservation (prenotazione) for it. I am not sure if that is how they work nowadays and I am searching everywhere and see if I can find how to do that, but I can't find anything. That is why I didn't put the whole 5 stars. We were able to buy yogurt and try the milkshake and the cannolo. The cannolo was the best I have ever had, honestly. the milkshakes were really overpriced. Very tiny cup for 3.50 euros, if you add whipped cream. Let's say the girl who helped us wasn't the nicest person on Earth. No smile at all and rushing us even though the place was quiet at that moment. Also my kids asked for a vanilla milkshake and a fior di latte one. She said, vanilla IS fior di latte, it's the same. No, vanilla is not fior di latte, just say there is no vanilla. I still want to go back and get the mozzarella... when I...
